Just found out the cablecar that goes up Table Moutain is closed for 3 weeks of maintenance & won't reopen until after we've left!!! Bloody typical!!  OH reckons we could hike but the website advises against it unless in a group of 4 or with a very expensive guide!!  We were really looking forward to going up too!

oh no! thats auful! see if you can find any cheaper guides around,might be worth a try? at least you will see it in person though even though its from the bottom. when is it your going? really soon isnt it? we are going 3months today!!! cant wait! :-)

10 days & counting, but only for 6 more days at work which is the important thing!!  Looked into guided hikes but there are no facilities open (e.g. toilets so I'm not too keen), it does reopen on the 4th & we're in Hermannus so if we really wanna do it we could always drive back!  Just been looking at alternative things to do now Table Mountains out & Cape Point looks lovely & there's a cablecar thingy that takes you to the top so will still get to see great views, plus they have baboons!!  Weather is loosing okayish too about 19C but sunny & dry!
