Our scooter was finally delivered on Monday and on Tuesday we took it for its 1st run. At 1st all was going well when OH was on the scooter and dogs were loving doing what huskys do best! Then my turn came. All was fine until we came to stop and I don't know how I did it but I ended up flying over the handlebars! Dogs knew something was wrong and came and sat on me! Anyway, it resulted in a trip to casualty. I have torn the ligaments from my hand to my elbow and am covered in cuts and grazes. I went to work yesterday with my hand strapped up but have just been sent home because I suddenly went really shaky and faint and have now started aching. Not sure if its the shock setting in!

No didnt have any protective things on but I think I will have to get some after what happened! We have got a mission scooter from snowpaw store. It is really good fun, you will have a great time! I'm going to be straight back on it once I've healed although they said it will be a minimum of 4 weeks!

Hope you're recovering okay. I only ever take out one dog with a scooter and that's plenty fast enough for me. You can still go over the handle bars though if you're not careful. I much prefer a rig with with two dogs though. I always wear a cycle helmet with a scooter as well.

Oh poor you :( I have come off the scooter too but embarressingly that was dogless! I often run two - or even three on mine, maybe you ought to practice dogless and get the hang of the brakes once you are mended?

That sounds like a good idea BusyDoggs!
With having 2 dogs we eventually want to get another scooter at some point and just run with one dog each like you sweetiepie but our boy was really underweight when we got him so we've been working on gradually building him up. He's now definately getting the husky strength but we are worried he will damage himself if we do too much too soon with him which is why we are running them together for the time being. Much less chance of our girl injuring herself - she's built like a tank!
