OH brought Jake home last night and he was limping. No obvious sign of anything in it, no blood, just obviously his paw.
This morning its really swollen, so we have a vets appointment at 2:30 it almost looks like a sting, he has also strated a low growl when you try and have a good look, so I will advise nthem to muzzle him, he's never bitten but i would rather be safe than sorry.
I'll have to carry him as OH is off on site at that time, though he would have taken him but we could not get an am appointment.
Glad its not his OCD side but I've told him (OH) if he breaks him again I will not let him play with him ?? the whole paw is getting bigger but he is still eating & drinking ok?

let us now how you got on,Hope its nothing too much to worry about xx
Just got back he has had an anti inflamatory and one thats like Morphine. Tomorrow am they will sedate him and xray, possibly a broken toe!
I did get him muzzeled and when she squeezed it he screamed, sound asleep now in Whistler's basket so it should be a virtually painfree night, we will knw more tomorrow, late morning. Oh Dear.

Oh what rotten luck! Sorry to hear that :-(
Glad to hear he's all tucked up now (do they even realise the worry we go through!!??)
Good luck for tommorrow x
Just dropped him off he looks like he has an elephant foot, but is putting more weight on. Im erring towrads an abscess that the vets squeezing helped, grass seed? they are going to phone me later but i authorised any "works" whilst he is under i do not intend to risk another sedation if I can help it.
They also offer a pre anesthetic blood test to check his liver ect so I agreed to that as well, I think it will act as a doggie MOT. I did feel really guilty leaving him there. I am so glad we swapped from E&L to Petplan insurance.

I have to say I've had no probs with E&L so far. I was going to change but have stayed put so far because of her ongoing incontinence problem. She was seriously ill last year and she's had accidents (ripped claw nail, deep cut requiring stitches and drained abscess caused by another accident I think) and they've paid up each time no problems except that they do make you wait.
You could be right with the abscess. I remember one of my children having a splinter that had gone unnoticed until it swelled up and as I applied pressure it popped and everything including the splinter came out.
Jake developed OCD in his shoulder and we had a big op, I waited 4 months for payment and had to go through the Ins regulatory people to get payment, it was around £1900 which we had paid thats on top of the excess, so I swapped both dogs on renewall. We have a clause re Jakes shoulder and we pay for his glucosomine tabs, but I do not intend waiting like that again, over christmas with nearly two grand missing out of the bank, thats not acceptable to me. Petplan all the way from now on. Though if it works for you stick with it.
Just phoned Finn the vet he has a "flat" spot on his pad and they stuck a needle in and pus came out. Nothing broken or obvious, but he has v.large lymph nodes? so a lot of samples have gone away. Started him on antibiotics and metcam so i can collect him at 5pm and take him back in 3 days.
