Hi all
Just a bit of advice, some t**t drove into the back of my car yesterday, not too much damage but i wondered if it was worth making a claim?
I know that in theory a non fault claim should not affect my future premiums, but does it really??? I mean if it doesn't affect your premiums why ask the question at all?
Can anyone confirm please? Either if you work for a company or if you have made a claim, what happened?
I run a very expensive toy plus my ecomnomical dog runaround and would hate to have a higher premium on the toy if i claim (could cost me houndreds LOL)
Thanks
PC

I made an uncontested no-fault claim a couple of years ago - it took ages to sort out because I wasn't prepared to write the car off, but after about a year the claim was settled, I got the cash value of the car (not enough to repair it properly) and got to keep the car, and didn't lose my NCB.

Thanks JG
I know i will get the repair and keep my NCD but will it affect future premiums? Will i have negative point because of an accident even though it was not my fault and will my next years premium be slightly higher?  My car is not a write off and needs new bumper only.

go online and do two quotes, one with the claim and one without and see the difference.  I did this when trying to decide whether to let someone claim from my insurance or whether to pay for the damage myself.

Your next year's premium will be higher anyway, due to inflation, so it'd be difficult to tell how much of the rise, if any, was due to the claim.
