forgot to mention this yesterday...did anyone watch it on Tues night???

I was really looking forward to it, love this kind of thing......was quite disappointed though...the story line was good, but I thought that they crammed too much into the one programme, I thought the "bad guys" had a lot more potential etc

or maybe it's just me, it was enjoyable, but I don't think I'll lose any sleep if I miss an episode

(I would love a job like that though, maybe one day I'll take a sabatical ;) )

Lady I knew did acheology at about 35 after the kids were older and spends a lot of time in Israel, egypt digging up things now. Moral is never to late to go off and do things. my son did his work experiance at the local archeological place in Winchester then got on to Time Team when they uncovered a lazer (leper colony) house. Got my OH on it treaking across a field to collect said son in the pouring rain whan his stint was over. (In the backgroud) still got the VHS recording.
He said the archeology chap the one with the broad accent & the older one with white hair and glasses were really good to him. But Tony Robinson sat in his caravan all day and only came out for a bit of filming and was a w----r.
I did my degree in may late 20's and started a whole new career at 35, so if I can do it as a single Mum with two kids anyone can, go for it...

I was really looking forward to this as its done by the same poeple that did the brilliant Life on Mars & Ashes to ashes.
But...
It fell a little short of the mark for me Im afraid...a little too much of a stretch of the imagination even a great cast couldnt save it from itself :-(

I watched it hoping for great things having enjoyed their previous efforts so much but I was very disappointed.  It was rather gruesome for a start.  I don't think that beheading needed to be so graffic and, I felt, rather gratuitous.
I hadn't realised it was going to be a series of stories rather than episodes.  So having killed off those baddies I can't see how they are going to trot out a series of fanatic baddy groups related to the world of archeology.  There can't be that many can there?
I also fear that to be politically correct they are going to be always whacky Christians and isn't it about time it became politically incorrect to constantly portray Christians as odd.
Don't think I will watch any more.

I couldn't stick it for longer than a few minutes, I am afraid!

I wish I had had that much resolve! :-)

Well I stuck it out and I have to say it was pretty awful.  Da Vinci Code meets Time Team but with a lot less thrills.  I am hoping that this was just an opening episode that was meant to grab you so they threw everything in the pot and ended up with this disjointed mess.  I will tune in for the second one in the hope that it will not 'try so hard'.
