i have been weaning my puppys on james wellbeloved dry, we always added a little honey to influence them a little, i worked a treat, however, i couldnt get the asda squeezy honey so i had to get gales, i know gales is a little more expensive and now our babies havethe runs,

could this be off the richness of the new honey or have i something to worry about??????

please help as weve spent sooooooooooooooooooooooo much money at the vets already and if i can would rather not take them if i dont have too,

It's definitely not something that I'd be giving to pups at weaning etc.  Do you give them anything else other than this and JWB?  I vary the four meals a day.

Honey is not given to human babies until a year old because their immature digestion cannot cope with the bacteria that is sometimes present in honey.  I don't know if this applies to puppies but it is not something I would give. 

Yes, babies can get botulism from honey.

I don't know if dogs can get it though?

It seems dogs can get it, although it is rare.

My pups are on JWB and i have added some puppy wet food to 2 meals (just a small amount mixed in) but my pups are on semi soft (i moisten with a spot of water). They wolf it down now

hya i had a trip to the vets for some medicine, its a paste, i think its working, they seem to be getting better, and not drinking too much water now, because they never stopped drinking yesterday, :)

That's a relief! I'm glad they're on the mend :-)
