Just wondering if anyone can help, would you feed the frozen meat from Prize choice cooked? I was wondering if it would be ok for my 5 week old pups ive only ever used it for the adults,it says it contains small pieces of bone so i was a bit wary especially if i cook it?

I have used prize choice meat for years, love the quality and have fed it to baby puppies from 3 weeks of age, bone pieces are so tiny they would never matter, i use the chicken, beef and lamb which i cook and the tripe i feed raw (not that brave!)
Touch wood i have never had a problem even though i have a small breed.

I feed it raw and have never had a problem with puppies, adults and different breeds too.

The bones are minced very finely and aren't noticeable.

Hi Willowsmum, Yes they are fine cooked and raw

( a precaution you probably don't need BUT just in case)

The prize choice and natures menu are good for puppies BUT they must be fed with mixer /Biscuit as on their own their is not enough substance for puppies. It is 65% plus water.

My friend used it on it's own for a week and the puppies were starving, she hadn't thought about the water to volume content.

Hi Folks thanks v much for the info I was going to mix it with their puppy complete, Ive added milk to the pup food (lactol) and tried goats milk but it seems to make their jobbies loose and i wouldve liked to keep them on some milk for a while but ill try the PC and see how we go.....ive got tons of it!!!Thanks again

I feed Prize Choice... never fed it with mixer (dont mix raw and cooked foods in the same meals just upsets tummies), and have raised several pups on it now, from as young as 6 weeks, small breeds and BIIIIIIG ones.

The way i understand it, meat is the more natural food source - theres only a finite amount of food a pup can eat in one day, if you add to the quality food (meat) something with less useful content (complete)  are you not taking up space in a pups tummy that could be better filled wit more meat?
