- By mariammehdi91 [us] Date 06.07.08 15:33 UTC
I have two Asian Tiger Striped Tarantulas. They live in seperate enclosures. They are mature and I'm ready to start breeding them. How do I go about doing this? What exactly do I need? Thanks in advance.

I know. I have a dog. But, I was hoping someone could help me out with my other pets. I orginally joined because of my dog's behavioral problems, but decided that I could maybe get some other info as well. Thanks anyway!

Hi,
Lol. Sorry can't help you.

Took me three atempts to open this thread, I am terrified of spiders.
We have had gecko's, giant milipeds. But now we do have corn snakes (tango & Cash) and have produced three lots of eggs and hatched them.
I found the local zoo of great help. :-)

You may very well find a Tarantula breeder on the site, :-) all I will say is make sure you are 100% sure of what you are doing and read and join all Tarantula sites with as much knowledge as possible before even contempating breeding, just as you would any living creature.

You need to know everything from do they need to be seperated immediately, to how many young they will have, what you will do with you young, are you keeping them or hoping to sell them on, if so make sure there is a market for that before you even begin? Anyone wanting one will wish to have someone knowledgable to ask questions of.

You've managed to bring both to maturity so you obviously know how to care for them. But make sure you are very sure of what you are doing before you attempt.

After watching 8 legged freaks the other night, I much pefer to breed dogs. :-D

i know nothing about breeding spiders but have bred cornsnakes and that was very difficult involving expensive incubators and loads of cages etc. how do you know you have a male and female? and most spiders will eat each other. you need to consult an expert, im sure you can find someone on line.

Gosh Mariammehdi91,

When I answered your initital Spider thread I did not notice all the others you have posted.

Stop impulse buying please, you have a need obviously, you want something to care for and love and fill a gap in your life by the look of things, anyone who wishes to have a minagary needs to know what they are doing beforehand, you are coming to a none specialist site who you may get lucky with one or two of your on the list, hope to have living creatures, but please slow down.

Impulse buys generally end up as try and see's, with animals that means rescues and passing on afterwards, and where does all this stop, sit down, slow down and think about what you are doing and what you are really crying out for............ Please!
