I have just recently got myself an ipod.

It's fabulous walking the dogs across the fields singing along to it!! (Luckily we very seldom meet others!!!!). And it's amazing how much easier it is to do the distance and sometimes speed up with the tempo of the song!! What are your favourite songs to exercise your dogs by??

This morning mine was 'It's A Man's World' by James Brown with Luciano Pavarotti. Fantastic! Very loud and very moving. However the one to make me march was 'It's My Life', Bon Jovi.

I usually use the speaker on my phone rather than risk having headphones in and someone approaching me from behind, I'd not hear them. But I listen to My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, The Offspring, Green Day and Simple Plan whilst out waking my dogs.

Tend to use my ipod for when going into town on the bus.

I'd be the same. I already look over my shoulder a fair few times on a dog walk, particularly if I pass a dog-less person in an area only really used by dog walkers. I also get a lot of runners approaching from behind who often shout to let me know they're coming through if it's a narrow path, or cyclists ringing their bells. I'm so paranoid about dog thefts now that I'd be expecting an iron bar over the head at any moment

OMW! I never think of that. I wouldn't have a clue if anyone came up behind me. I never meet people anyway. I suppose I should be more careful. I would like to think that I would be safe with 5 GRs but tbh I couldn't rely on them! They'd be in the river anyway probably.

Just yesterday this girl went straight over the road at a junction I was turning right into, just kept going oblivious to my car and there were the little white wires of her earphones hanging down, I often see people with them on whilst cycling, I don't have one but daughter does and I do warn her of the dangers.

I was just gonna say that you shouldn't have music in your ears cause someone could nab you so easily- they also say you shouldn't be talking on the phone or have your hair in a pony tail very easy to grab because you are not aware of your suroundings- better safe then sorry :)

Kate, you have immpeccable taste in music! Bon Jovi are fab to sing along too! Livin in a prayer is my fave for singing my head off to!!! he he!! I've had some very strange looks!!

You must be young Kate. ;-) :)

I love getting away from noise and listening to birds and wind in the trees when I walk. I just don't get the need to constantly have music playing - never did, even as teen. Our engineers at work all walk around with iPods (some as old as me even!) I have been known to break out in song a capella though. :-D Particularly when riding my bike up a steep hill. :) I do try to avoid torturing others with my vocal talent though

cant think of anything worse.....when i go out with the hounds I want to see and hear everything.....from tractors coming along the drive to skylarks!! We did some filming last year and the research girl was astounded that andrew should go out into the fields each morning to be hunted by the hounds......and she asked what he did whilst he sat and waited to be caught...he said he sat there and watched and listened to the countryside....she couldnt believe anyone could walk without an eye pod!!!!! I find it really sad but then i guess each to their own!

Guys, guys,

I'm not young!! I am just the wrong side of forty-eight with an OH and 3 teenage children (well, you see why I like to have some music of my choice!. LOL) but I absolutely love to sing!!! My voice is hopeless, well, it's ok for choirs and I've sung a lot of choral stuff in the past...but to walk and sing along to uplifting and energising tunes can be almost spiritual for me. Ok so I'm sad.

Do you want to know what made me sing my heart out today? ..........Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.......followed by

The Winner Takes it All - ABBA - oh tears with that one.....

And tomorrow.... ??

Same age and just like my hubby then. Must be the vintage! LOL I do love to sing but I think even the wildlife would be put off. :)
