Hi

I've just gone through this, the vet at frist thought it was possibly an infection, but as she showed no other sign of any illness, I got a second opinion and that vet believed it was hormonal.  If it is like a season, I wouldn't be too worried, but if there is a smell that comes with it then you should probably talk to your vet.  It may dissapear over time as the milk starts to dry up and the hormones settle.

My vet told me it was perfectly normal to have a discharge right up till the next season is due, so as long as there is no offensive smell and your bitch is well I shouldn't worry too much.

Hi,
Yes mine often leak till milk dries up.
I have used rasberry leaf before whelping and for two weeks after, and it does seem to stop the discharge sooner!
But not used it often enough to be sure it's the rasberry leaf or the individual. :-)
