Topic Dog Boards / Health / Lump on Sheath

I recently noticed a lump on my dog's penis sheath. I was rubbing his stomach and acidently brushed my hand against it. It caused him to whine. I tried to look at it, but he screamed in pain. He seems uncomfortable while walking or sitting. Also, when he went to hump my leg, he yelped in pain (might be helpful with that problem though). :D I took his temperature and he's at 39.4 degrees. Is this too high?

his temperature is slightly high, should be 38.3-38.9 roughty, though this is only a guide. there are reasons it could be raised apart form sickness however, was he stressed when you took it? had he just been for a walk or run? what was the temperature in the room, was it a hot day perhaps? if he has any other signs, lethargy, sickness etc i would get him checked out.
i would however get the lump checked out if it is sore.
