How do you keep white's white without breaking the KC rules
on exhibiting the dogs??

I've never had this before but it has been noticed that my girl
doesn't have whiter than white white's. (Or clean looking white markings)
How can I clean them up to look sparkling white again,
the markings are on the face and legs.

I do give bath to dog but don't like to over bath the dogs don't want to
lose the natural coat oils.

Any advice help gratefully received.

Hi Kirstine,

I borrowed some "dry shampoo" spray (kitchen spray type bottle, not aerosol can) at a show the other day, as the Merrist Wood show had made my girls feet sludgy grey. It was very effective, and assume as it's towelled out it doesn't contravene KC regs?

Marina,

Do you know what the make was and did it brighten/clean the white
up to look white again.
I'll look out for it at shows :)

Thanks

Yes, was very effective - I bought some the same day, although not the same make. When I've tried mine out, I'll tell you if it works and what make it was.

Hi, I use Johnstons dry foam shampoo, for dogs, this is very good, I also use Calcium carbonate, you can buy this from any chemist as long as you say its for cleaning white dogs, (I have westies) another product I use is called "Gold Label White Wash" its a mild soap based super whitener for show animals, I get this at a shop that sells "horse items", but the distributors of this product are Westgate, Newchurch, Romney Marsh, Kent, sorry I don't have a phone no for them or a web addy, someone else on the board might have these. The dry foam shampoo I use at shows especially if its raining as you can imagine a westies paws can get really dirty, I also use a block of white chalk, they can all brush out of the coat before a show. Hope this helps you. Irene- Westyholm Westies

Thanks Irene, much appreciated.
I have used (and brushed out) chalk but I still get
advised that dog looks dirty in comparison with others that are
in the ring. Out of interest what brand of chalk do you use?
However some use stuff that probably isn't taken out of coat hence
Super Bright Whites ;)
Surprised that no-one offered Daz LOL as
thought that some bright spark might :))
I'll look out for the products that you have suggested, are they ok to use on the face too?
Thanks Again
Kirstine
