I have a 19 month old bitch, her last season was in September and she is producing small amounts of milk.  One nipple was quite matted with milk.  She is her normal happy self.  Is this anything I should be worrying about?

I would get it checked out as you never know. She could have had a silent season and therefore could be having a phantom pregnancy, or even a real one, if you didn't realise that she was in season. Or it could be something that needs looking at, and potentially require antibiotics.

Agree with LindyLou, timing would be about right if she's had a season that you didn't know about.  Silly girl could be getting ready for pups she hasn't got!

Bit of an update.  Talked to my vet and he said nothing to worry about.  Suki had had an injection at the end of February to stop her season.  Why? her Mum had come into season, Suki was due in season, Suki had qualified for Crufts (got a 3rd, so it was worth it! I think ) and i'm not going to breed from her, as she failed one of her health tests.  Anyway the vet thought it was probably something to do with the injection, maybe sending her hormones to pot.  She is still producing milk, and today I noticed a hard swelling, the size of a small egg, above one of her nipples.  So i'm off to the vets tomorrow, to see what he thinks, she's young so hopefully an infection?  Anyone had anything like that?

Not sure about an infection, but you are doing the right thing, and it will also put your mind at rest.  Fingers crossed this end, and I hope all goes well for your girl.  Jean

Back from the vets.  He thinks she has a cyst.  Gave her some Galastop and thought that would do the trick.  When he squeezed her nipples there was loads of milk.  He thought she was young to have so much milk from a phantom and thinks we may have a problem after each season.

Glad to hear that it wasn't anything frightening.  I realise that some girls just have bad phantoms, but if it is the injection that has caused this, you may not see the problem as bad next season.  Fingers x'd for you anyway.  Jean
