Hiya all

After the small disaster with the car (still in garage...no news may be RIP ) However today I have test driven in no order of preference but the order I test drove them in.

I am not looking for new but used anything from 04 - 08 and the newest would be a pre registered...new looses to much depreciation for my liking and usage.
Although would look at best bargain 

1. Honda Jazz......really nice.....like a tardis
2. Peugeot 206 SW (estate) .......I liked that, nice drive and I like the 206 hatch as well so wider choice.....ie "negotiating power".
3. Ford Ka really liked that but only come in 3 door and a little small in the back...can't see Mom or Dad getting in there so could be out on that basis but nippy little devils
4. Ford Fiesta....nice car not for me though.
5. Mazda2......Really liked this...................really. (Just a tad expensive compared to the others but nice)

In the next week I hope to test drive a Toyota Yaris and a Nissan Micra (I like Micra's)

Looking for something small nippy, idealy can put the rear seats flat (estate like) and has 5 doors....any suggestions or "views" on those I have posted good or bad, most welcome.

As none of them would be good for me wth 2 tall boys and 2 dogs, but good for everyone else :)
Honda Civic are good :) not drive one , but Dad is looking at an accord for his next car and as I drive it as much as him I look as well :)
Do you like small cars, no power etc etc as it chages the views of what people think :) (IE :-I would never have a micra as I like power :) )

Not looking for  power...............1.4 max I think although no dislike of power I drive arund West Mids mostly none motorway.....walk to work so need car for days out 9mostly) with dog don't need an estate but would not have objection as I do fit loads in plant and rubbish wise............. I am 5ft4 and would be me mostly and dog. Osccasional OH but he is 6ft 2 and has his own car (which as its ompany) would be used for longer journies mostly. Need to be able to fit shopping in, parents for hospital appointments etc..... me and the dog.

What about a Jag 4.2 or a BMW 3litre~( I hve driven one!!!!) :D They are both goooooooooooooooooooooodddddddddd you do have to have at least 100000,000 in rthe bnk to drive the jag tho LOL

I have a Peugeot 206SW and it's alright but not really my cup of tea. I used to drive a Citroen Picasso and that would be my first choice as it is so comfortable, good view due to it's height, very versatile ( I have carried a double bed and a three piece suite in my old one) and very economical - averaged around 55mpg. It was the 1.8 diesel model.

The 206 is smaller - really like the ability to open the tailgate window to access the cargo area without having to open the whole tailgate which is great when the dogs are in the back.  It is far less economical  and am probably getting around 30-35mpg - it is the petrol version but as I now do a quarter of the mileage I was doing the servicing costs offset the savings in fuel consumption for the  diesel version. Petrol version needs servicing every 20,000 miles or every 2 years whereas the diesel version is every 10,000 miles or annually.

I don't have any experience of the other cars on your list :)

I have a 1.4 jazz and it is really nippy.  they are quite light cars and I tend to find that I can pick up speed a lot quicker than some of the cars with much bigger engines.  I keep the dog in the massive boot and have had my friends mal in the boot too but if I have both the dogs I generally fold the back seats down to make it a mini estate.

The jazz is deceptively big and although lea has said it is not suitable for tall people I have had people up to 6'3" in it without being cramped.  It also came out in the top 10 for reliability and the only things I have had to had fixed in mine are things I have broken like tyres and the wing mirror - I have had mine for 3 years.

Now for the downside - everyone else you see driving one will be a pensioner!

I've had a micra and it was brilliant really comfortable to drive....that said you can't beat the Toyota for reliability!

What about the The ford C-max Or Ford FOcus C-max if reg before 07. My doggy freinds have it. It has quite good space for what is quite a smallish car. All the seats come out, there are hundreds around so you can get a good deal from Motorpoint or Arnold clark.   Insurance and fuel is very good to.

I have had a nissan micra for 3 years. It is the most reliable little car, cheap on petrol and really nippy. Good space. My B-I-L who is 6ft 6 says there is more leg room in the back of my car than in the traditional "family" type cars. Im 5 11 myself and never found space a problem.
They're deceptive little critters in terms of space. Not the trendiest car but if you're looking for reliability and something that wont cost you an arm and a leg then a micra is the best bet.
So much so that i have just recieved £2500 rebate on wages from work. Going to get a new car but im afraid to get rid of Millie (the micra) cos shes been so great i dont wanna get another car that could let me down :-)  This is not like me...money burns holes faster in my pockets than anyone else i know!!!!but im scared to tempt fate!

If I was to get a little car, (and I may when the last zoi departs for the bridge) then I quite fancy the Skoda roomster :)

My daughter has a Ka, brilliant little car which feels like a big car when you drive it (I normally drive an espace). I love it but the two doors are a hassle though she has taken her sister and our bernese and setter in the back before now!

I like Vauxhall's so i'd go for a Corsa .
If you are wanting lots of room - how about a Citroen Berlingo ? Not small but nippy !
