I always send off for whatever I'm raising my pups on (JWB and Naturediet) because that way new owners are more likely to carry on using what the pups were raised on as opposed to something you wouldnt normally use, just because the company sent it to you.

We all like a freebie but its always better to just offer whats usually fed.

I get mine for free because Im signed up as a breeder, I dont know if they would allow you to buy them at a reduced rate (compared to shop prices) if you wernt signed up with them.

Contact your brands head office and ask.

I email JWB and they sent a 2kg bag and are sending puppy packs next week. Some are more strict with samples etc and want you to be in breeder programe but others are willing to help if you ask. To be honest i wasnt sure what food to put pups on but JWB food came at the time i started weaning so im sticking to that now!

im failing to see where some of these posts are going as surely you would only rear your pups/recommend/supply new owners on something you had tried....knew worked well for your breed and that you trusted??? I am amazed people would just go with a company who they could "get some thing free out of them".
I feed my hounds mainly on RC and I also belong to their breeders club and receive their puppy packs which are very good.
I have just bought in a pup whose breeders feed arden grange and likewise he came with appropriate pack....but not because it was some freebie...but because its tied and tested for his breed and truseted by the breeder!

i weaned mine using arden grange and nature diet, fab pups, and arden grange do a puppy pack too.
i am part of their breeder club though.

My litter 3 years ago were raised on pedigree and butchers(as advised by stud owner) which i now know are not as good a standard as others. This is why i was uncertain as to what complete food to wean pups on to as so much has changed. My mentor has small breed dogs who eat a variety of different foods so was unable to get percifec advice for my breed. After looking on here and various other sites i'd made a short list of JWB,Arden grange & RC, i decided to try JWB and have sourced a local seller etc for the new owners. Im a member of pedigree breeders club and have sat unopened a 10kg of puppy complete and box,s of sachet foods. If i wasnt concerend for thier diets i would be useing that. I will be takeing various bits of info (puppy leaflets etc)from the packs ive recieved to put into the packs i make up but not the food as they will stick to what ive fed them on.

We feed skinners and supply thier puppy packs, really dont see the point in supplying packs from another feed manufacturer if the new owner is not going to feed their food - The eukanuba tubs are usuefull though :-)

Same as Sam here.  I feed RC and I give their food to new owners.  Not much point in giving them something I don't feed myself, I would be blamed for causing tummy upsets!  However, I'm picking up a new pup next week, and she will be fed on whatever she is used to until she has completely settled in.  I shall intoduce RC gradually later.
