so do any of you have secret, or not so secret vices (and no not dog related!!)
I have a bad habit of buying jewellery, particularly when I am stressed, or depressed...I swear I have bought enough jewellery in the last 16 months to last a lifetime!! I convince myself I'm getting a good deal, though I have some items I have never worn....
hubby gets exasperated with me, but I think he mostly understands.
I still look around, though I am pleased to say I haven't bought anything recently :) (though I did order a rather nice deerhound sculpture last night as a kind of compromise..)
one of my mates has suddenly started buying fancy bras, that she just puts in a drawer...must admit I've never been fussed with clothes, or shoes, or handbags...
so come on you lot....fess up ;)

EBAY!! That's my (not so secret) vice. I love bargain hunting when I'm stressed, and chocolate!
my hubby goes on ebay a lot, I think he counters what I buy by buying computer gear, so I really can't moan at him can I...:)
I browse ebay, and sometimes bid, but I often get outbid and I never worry about bidding again, daft innit

I haven't got any vices. I have got secrets though ;-)

I'll let you into a little secret (shhh!). The snipe tool is wonderful and puts in a bid a few seconds before the auction ends, works wonders! If you google "free auction sniper" and go from there.

That is funny I was indulging mine yesterday...and realising that it was 'a secret vice'.
Alone in the car....I turn up the cd player really loud and sing along.
Doesn't sound like much, but, I suffer migraine and can become noise sensitive, others in my family are so good and understand that quite often I dont want any radio or cd's on. So I do feel guilty when I am 'misbehaving' neighbours were laughing the other day as I pulled up and said 'nice to see you enjoying yourself..................I suppose I sort of jig along in my seat too.
Karen ;)

I talk to inanimate objects ..TV, PC ...husband ..oops, no scratch the last one :-D
I sing when Im on my own (badly)
I love Ebay
Chocolate ...
Big Brother :) :)

i belong to the hotel chocalate tasting club.
They send you a selection each month or whenever you want ( i do every 3 months ) and ask you to sroce them online and you win a prize eg a years subs.
OH thinks its free but its not (17.00 each box) but its only every 3 months and i dont smoke or drink so its really my only vice.
apart for my dogs of cause.

Oh come on now, chocolate isn't a vice, it's a necessity!
I also don't consider tuneless singing a vice either. It's a teaching tool for one's children. It teaches them that for every action there's a reaction so think carefully before you embarrass me in public.

I will fess up, and you'll laugh, but hey!
I splurge on undies. Yup, I buy them whenever I feel a bit down, or I look at a pair in La Senza and go "oh they are cute". I have so many pairs, that I bet I wouldnt have to actually do washing of them, for 2 months, if I could! My drawer is full!
I also sing very badly, but one minute it will be country, the next minute, it will be pop, I go all over the place. If you were to see my MP3 player, you would be shocked! There is no rhyme or reason to the songs, just a bit of everything.
I also go on here a lot. I love CD, and I am on it with my first cup of coffee in the morning. (so if my posts dont make sense, you know why! I aint awake yet!)

staionary, just love it never use it just look at it
> staionary, just love it never use it just look at it
Now that
is weird LOL :-D :-D

hey what is worse is i have boxes and boxes of stuff. card making stuff, filofaxes etc etc

'shakes head, chuckling' :)
> staionary, just love it never use it just look at it
lol, I have alsways been obsessed with stationary :) I don't know what it is about the stuff. I have boxes of different pen sets, boxes of different shaped erasers, 1000's of stupid little stickers (smiley faces, lady birds, paw prints etc....), different sorts of paper fastners....... All stuffed away in draws, you just can't use them or they will get spoiled!!!!!
My dream would be to have the entire contents of hobby craft :) .....and Viking direct......and Office World......
I'm glad I'm not alone in my strange desire to own the worlds entire lot of stationary :)
Shoes, i cannot get past a shoe shop I must have at least 30 pairs now and I do chuck them out or give them to my Aunt. I also do take care of my feet, no hard skin and always toe nail polish even at my advanced age I love, love, love shoes. My OH has stopped remarking on them after 17 years he just knows!!

same here! I love stationary, different pens, pencils, stickers, folders, etc! I think a lot of ppl are like that! (at least I hope, lol)

Mine is changing the word to songs as I sing-a-long very very loudly, not because I don't know the words but just because mine fit better ie to sing to the dogs, the plants etc ('She's So lovely' has almost perfect words for the two girls :D)
I love gold charms, occasionally have a good bargain on ebay, but things a bit tight now so have to curb it :)

When we sorted out our bedroom my husband insisted I counted my knickers. I took his point that I had too many at 82 pairs!!!!
As for the shoes.......Well the least said the better.
I agree whole heartedly CherylS in your comments

I buy far too much underwear and Im addicted to Ebay like a few others on here. Also handbags! Good for the soul!

not to tempt you dearlady but have yoou heard of gems tv?... they do jewellery at very reasonable prices as they own most of their mines, the own their factory and the means of sale so cats out much of the prices. pretty ethical company as well, they reestablish teh environment when they finish mining etc.
anyway, for me... special fudge from asda or tesco (the extra special or finest kind)
hee hee Astarte - yes I've bought from there, and the jewellery channel.....
my family are well sorted for little gifts now!!
and YUM to the fudge too, since toffee has been off the menu for me cos of my jaw, I have switched to fudge, and am rather partial to the Tesco one.....
I have a secret vice that you may think quite odd! Im one of these people who are really fussy when it comes to food, not so much about what I eat but like at work people are always bringing home made biscuits and cakes in.
Maybe Im a bit weird but I just dont trust where its come from or how its been made , but I dont want to seem rude so I take the biscuit or cake and pretend im going to eat it later.
I then say Im going to the loo and go out of the room and put it in one of the artificial plant displays in the foyer!! lol
Im addicted, a lad gave me this horrid chunk of cheese about 6months ago, I put that behind the fake fern, and its still there festering!
Now you may ask why dont I just put it in the bin? Well , I think they may be on to me so I darent! No one has ever seen me eat any of the offerings ive been given!

it's soooo good isn't it? asda box is bigger and only costs a wee bit more though ;)

Rupertbear I would have to confess to the same vice! I put my own concern down to biting a piece of someone's home made shortbread as a child and getting one of their long grey hairs wrapped round my teeth!!! Also another elderly person I used to have lunch with sometimes, and they always made home made soup, well one day I saw my leftover soup being scraped back into the pan for re-use on the next visitor! Now I tend to start to gag on other peoples food, I thought only I had this problem so I am quite relieved!!!(what a good idea to drop the food into the artificial plants...!)
