The girl who stays at the bottom of my road stopped mre the other day to tell me she had mated her bitch with her other dog ,now the bitch has been mated more or less every day she said as she just lets them run about together i think the 1st mating was last thursday and there still mating .i asked her why she was letting both dogs out as the bitch was in season and was told i just wanted pups as yours are so cute .i have tried to tell her that it is not easy whelping and bringing up a litter of pups and because the bitch has been mated so many times would she know when the pups were due ,and did she have homes for them ,was told no no homes ,and it cant be that hard having pups

some people just make me sooooooooo mad

i know what you mean, i had my first ever litter and its been soooooooo hard, they are 3weeks old, theres 9, and i only had a couple of homes for mine as we only expected 6, thats where i went wrong, but some ppl are just like that, then when she is struggling she wil run to u, and assuming your like me you will probs lend a hand,

You could write her a list of everything she will need, tell her what hard work it will be, how heartbreaking it could be if it goes wrong, show her this forum.
Maybe then you could convince her to get the pregnancy terminated, or if she is determined to go ahead tell her to start buying stuff and looking for homes now!:-(

I have written a list of all the things she will need ,told her about CD web site and said mabye best to take her bitch to the vets and get pregnancy terminated .i will not repeat what she said but it was not very nice .It's the poor bitch that i feel sorry for she has had so many matings and am sure it's not a good idea to have as much as she's had ,they will have no idea when the pups would be due .
I have given her the best advice that i can ,offered to help when the time comes {not for her benifit but for the health and safety of the bitch} ,my hubby said just to leave her to it she will learn by her mistake's but i cant i just keep thinking of the poor bitch ,it's a horrable thing to say but i just hope and pray she does not take

It is true that she will learn from her mistakes but its such a shame when a dog and puppys are involved like that.

Good on you dawn for offering to help. The bitch and puppies will certainly need it. Good luck :)

well i have 12 and although they were not to hard to begin with they require soo much now at 4 weeks and the amont of food im going through is costing a fortune lol it sounds like she dosnt have a clue and probably dosnt realise how much they cost and whelping no matter how smooth it goes is traumatic if its your first time i really feel for this bitch and can see her selling these babies way to early just coz she cant handle the pressure of it all

Yep and after four weeks they will be screaming for more space and exercise, waking early and playing noisily and the neighbours will be loosing patience ;)

WAY HAY to you guys on champ dogs i let her see the forum ,sat down and told her just how hard having and bringing up a litter is then my little ones decided to wake up and come to life ,so it was non stop cleaning pees and poops lol then there was the mess after dinner time when they started to play in there scrambled eggs lol ,she said she did not think there would be so much mess and had just put down new carpets .
long story short she asked if i thought it would be cruel if she took her girl to the vets to terminate the pregnancy ,so im giving her a lift later on as she has decided pups are not for her

thanks guy

Thank goodness for that - well done Dawn. :)

Fantastic. Well done for advising her, and I have to say very well done to her too, for making the right choice, which I'm sure has not been easy for her. If only everyone who wanted to breed took notice of well intended advice, things would be far better.

That's great, good on you for taking the time, and good on her for taking your advice. :-)

Well done to both you and her - she's definitely doing the right thing. I did enjoy having puppies last year but it was hard work and we only had 2, lol!

Best thing all round I think, good on you for caring and on her for being realistic :-)
