I love all this memory jogging but this one really shows our ages.  I didn't have tv until I was about 5!!  Used to listen to the radio - Listen with mother.  Yes I remember the early Doctor Who, Champion, Circus Boy, and what about the Lone Ranger - Hi ho Silver!  I watched White horses with my sister - and loved the tune too. Thanks for the link.  Only saw ITV when I went to friends houses.

The Banana Splits that takes me back :-).

Was in Church for a marriage vows renewal service a few weeks ago and they paly a clip from Trumpton and most of the adult protion of the congregation joined in with the Fire station roll call "Phew, Phew, Barney.....etc".  The kids all thought we were mad!

When I was a teenager we used to keep our pony on the farm that belonged to one of the creators of the Clangers (and Basil Brush, Ifor the Engine, and Bagpuss amongst many others). We kept the tack in his barn of which a part was put aside as the set for the Clangers. It was made of chicken wire, papier mache, drinking straws and christmas baubles. The Clangers were knitted by his wife. Both creators lived in the village at the time and when one decided to sell some of the artwork he had produced for comics the villagers were offered first choice at nominal prices. My dad bought quite a few and gave us children a framed piece each. Mine is a Bagpuss story and the page from the comic is on the reverse side of the painting. My sister had Pogles Wood and my brother had Ifor the Engine.
