Our bitch has a creamy milk coming from her teats this morning and i was wondering if this is a sign of the pups coming soon she has been restless and scratching her bed alot the last few days then yesterday morning she was very quiet but not sure about the milk though as never had this before in any of our bitches ?

The bitch seems normal today still nesting a bit but normal other than that has still has the milk, we were going to take her temperture but she really does not like it so we are leaving her alone for now at least,

She is 53 days today i know this is a little early to have her pups but how many days would you consider it safe for her to start having them i thought it was 56 days as i have had another bitch give birth to both her litters on this day and all were fine

just thought i would ask what your experiences are ?

Up to a week less than 63 days pups are considered viable.

today the bitch seems very unsettled, has lost some clear discharge, has been digging all the furniture and her bed, has been panting a lot today as well and does not seem to want to be by her self, has not eaten hardly anything all day but has drank quite a bit and she is now sound asleep so not really sure if she is going to have them soon or not, hopefully she will hold on to them for a couple more days as she is only 55 days but i think it might be tomorrow or Wednesday

Fingers crossed that she holds on for another 24 hours.  I've had pups 7 days early and they've been fine.

well nothing today but is sleeping quite a lot and still digging furniture and bed a bit and has eaten about a mouth full of food all day and felt the pups moving today as well,

I'm glad that she's gone another day.  I have often had bitches whelp 7 days early and bitch and pups have been fine.  Last year I had a bitch whelp 10 days early, and I wasn't successful at getting the pups going.

Well they are not here yet, we have started to take her temp now she seems alot more happy with it than she was a week or so ago, yesterday her temps were 37.8, 37.6, 37.8, 37.8 then this morning it has dropped to 37.5, i am very new to tempurtures being the first bitch i have done this on so unsure of exactly i am looking for we have the book of the bitch but still unsure.
- By aussiedogs [gb] Date 19.06.08 18:53 UTC
her temp went to the highest i have seen it at 38.0 at dinner time then this afternoon dropped back down to 37.7 she is 58 days today.
- By JeanSW Date 19.06.08 22:26 UTC
I bet you're on tenterhooks by now!
- By aussiedogs [gb] Date 20.06.08 07:37 UTC
Yeah i am her temp keeps going up and down so just have to wait quietly lol :)
- By aussiedogs [gb] Date 20.06.08 19:00 UTC
well today her temp was 37.7 then went up to 37.9 then dropped to 37.5 now it is 37.4 and has been like that since 3 o clock this afternoon  that is the lowest adn biggest drop she has had, she is on day 59 and keep cleaning her self all over

Do you think this could be this could be the start of labour or will it drop a bit more before it starts?
- By aussiedogs [gb] Date 21.06.08 09:52 UTC
her temp is 36.8 this morning and has stayed like that, how long would you say she has until she has the pups ?
