Any one here have any experience of these?
Cant see my carpet being replaced for another year and quite like the idea of using one, for this and other jobs.

Maybe I am unwell :)

I gave mine away a few months ago (cinderella) as we have laminate all through now.  Works quite well on carpets, you put a terry towel on the base and scrub!  The colour of the cloth shocked me when I'd finished!  But, it doesn't deep clean, it only cleans the surface.

I have a Karcher and use it on my laminate flooring it's very good but you just have to watch that you do not use too much steam because it can soak the floor.  Another drawback is that you still have to rinse out the cloth that cover the brush head but at least you do not have to use any detergent.  It is certainly very good on carpets and really does bring them up a treat and as a bonus round up the dog hair in nice neat little yarn like strings :D.

It also has lots of other attachments, I use one to steam the curtains while they are still hung up, gets rid of dust nicely.  A bit pricey though I think it cost approx £100.

I don't know if its the same thing but my dad bought a steamer and has been cleaning EVERYTHING with it.  It's amazing how dirty some things get without you realising it.  And I like the idea of no chemicals too.

Thanks all, I dont really like doing housework and live in a home that I wouldn't like unexpected visitors that I didn't know well to drop in.
If my friends and family call thats fine they know what to expect.
Really fancy a steam mop though, they do look good.

I have a steam cleaner and love it.  You can do the mopping of the floors etc with it also with the attachments.  Don't think I would do without it now and I'm another that is not a keen houseperson :)

you can also use different attachments on steamers to remove wall paper and everything. great on dribble marks as well if you dogs leave them.
