I have a GSD who is in the car every day, although only for about 10 - 15 minutes.  I have a Vectra Estate which is ideal.  Unfortunately my daughter will be learning to drive soon and as the car is 1800cc, the insurance quote would buy a small house!!!!
Can anyone recommend a 1200cc car (the engine size greatly reduces the insurance cost), which will fit my dog.  I don't want him on the back seat as he is always scruffy.

Any advice of the type of small cars anyone uses would be greatly appreciated.

I would seriously consider a small volkswagon every time :-) They are roomy and very reliable. I've had a Passat before and I loved it.

Peugeot 206 SW (but don't know what size the engine comes in) Will fit 1 GSD.
