I hope that I am posting this unnecessarily, I have received a heartbreaking phone call from one of my pups mums and our very good friend. Her girl is just over 3 1/2 years old and is presenting with signs of acute onset leukemia, first blood results also point to this. We are hoping that these blood results were an anomaly and they are doing more tests.
Looking on the net prognosis is not good, suppose that I am here looking for personal experiences. I felt useless this morning as I just didn't know what to say.

I am so sorry to hear this and I pray that she gets a good result and not leukemia. My dog is battling Lymphoma at present and I see that the drug that they use for leukemia is one of the ones that she has had, but it doesn't give a definite answer to how the leukemia responds. Can I suggest that you get onto Yahoo groups, canine cancer, as there are many on there that will have answers for you. In the meantime I hope it is a false alarm.
Thank you for replying and the suggestion, I am still hoping that they are wrong, I have never met a family so utterly devoted to their dogs.
Good luck with your battle and a good outcome.

Talk about a day of emotions! Next set of bloods came back normal!
Rowan had been given rimadyl for a stiff neck before the severe vomiting.............wonder if this could have caused the unusual blood results? I am annoyed that her family were put through all this worry before a second test was taken, she is of course just over the moon at the "normal" readings!

Phew, glad to hear its good news. No idea why the test turned out like that but thankfully it was a false alarm!x
Rowan's mum spoke to the vet again today and they have decided that the rimadyl was the most likely explanation for the vomiting and that she should have it noted not to be given it again.
I have never been so relieved to hear of a dog keeping food down and jumping up onto the garden table!
