CAN ANYONE HELP ME....MY 12 WEEK OLD PUP CALLED MILO (KIDS NAMED HIM!!!) WONT WALK OUTSIDE WHEN I PUT HIS LEAD ON TO HIS HARNESS, HE WALKS FINE UNTILL I PUT THE LEAD ON THEN HE JUST SITS THERE AND WONT MOVE,,!!!CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ADVICE....ANGELA..LIVERPOOL....ANGEMYRS@AOL.COM..THANKS..

Well he/she needs time to accustom themselves to the outside world! Try encouraging him a few steps. do not sympathise but be very' jolly' about it. Pick him up and walk a few steps then put him down and try again. Keep to a quiet place at first so that traffic doesn't startle him. Also just wait until he moves himself, and encourage him in the direction you intended.
Hi Angela
This is not at all unusual with baby puppies when everything is new to them. You could take a look at some posts on Page 9 of this section entitled "My name is Blade and i have a problem! " I think it was around the 28th August. A lot of the suggestions mentioned there may well help you.
Good luck with your pup

Another thing you can do to help is to put the harness and lead on in the house or garden and just let your pup wander around with them on. That way he'll get used to the feel of it. When he starts walking, pick up the lead gently and praise him and give him treats. Don't let him chew it though. He will get there. He is such a baby yet and for most breeds, still very young to be going out walking anyway to be honest.
It is important to get him out to socialize, but do that by carrying him, if he is small enough that is. Let him get used to the lead etc in the house and garden and take him out for walks when he is older.
Good luck
