After a bit of a scare last Thursday we've had a quiet weekend but this morning (day 60) Pippa is really restless and scratching at her bed, the carpet etc.
Her temperature is creeping down (37.1 this morning, 37.7-37.4 yesterday). I was expecting a dramatic drop but as I haven't seen it is she maybe not quite there yet? Last night she kept losing bits of fluid and the stringy mucous stuff was coming out too.
She won't eat anything even with her favourite tuna mixed in this morning.
I daren't leave her but I am sure me feeling anxious doesn't help!

Does sound as if she my be on her way, my limited experience is well out of date and I am sure others who are breeding currently will be around to help or offer comfort soon.

Thanks Jackie, I appreciate you taking time to reply.
I'm not very experienced myself (onyl one litter 'under my belt') but my girl's temperature was up and down like a yo yo, then she went off all food and drink for a day on day 59 (I had to syringe water into her mouth!) then temperature went right down to 36.1 on day 60, stayed there, and she had her pups that night.
She didn't display many 'signs' but wasn't her usual self and I am pretty certain she was in early labour on day 59.
So, you may have a wait, but keep an eye out! :-) Good luck!

Not an expert either Pippa! Just had one litter aswell. Just posting to wish you the best of luck! Sounds as though your girl hasn't got too long to go though!

Sounds like she is on her way i would expect pups within the next 24/48 hours good luck to you both
I've never taken the temperature of any of my bitches, but the muccous is a good sign that things are on the way ;-) Don't be surprised if it 'leaks' for a few days though. Keep an eye on the colour. If it starts to go green get her to the vet.
My girl completely looses her appetite the day she is due, scratching, restlessness, all signs that the whelping is iminant.
Good luck, you should have the pitter, patter of tiny feet within the next 12 hours. :-)
I usually find that things are sure to start pretty soon once they go off their food.Try not to be too anxious around your bitch and stay close now.Good luck
