hello having been a little bit keen and drunk lol,after doing a load of research on foods etc ,i bulked brought naturediet and a sack of orijen which she loves,
i feed her wet food in the morning and dry of an evening.i think its going to take 2 maybe 3 months for her to get through the dry 13,5 kg bag ,at the moment i just got it in there own bag do i have to put it in a bin air tight or anything, and can u tell if the foods going off   thks

I keep dry food for about 3 months. I put it into large storage tubs (easier to handle than big sacks), they have lids but are not airtight. I think the 'shelf-life' on dry food is quite long, as long as it is kept dry and out of damp/humid conditions. :)

Does the bag have a guide to how long you can keep it? Most products have a small section of the label to tell you how long to keep them!  I keep Molly's dry food in a plastic cereal dispenser although if we buy a HUGE bag we do tend to keep it in the shed & refill the container from there! I would imagine as long as the area it's stored is dry you should be okay for 2/3 months!

I wonder what other crazy, impluse buys people have bought whilst surfing & intoxicated?!! LO!

LOL Think it will take a bit longer than that to use up the bag, feeding 1-2 handfuls a time...... :) unless you want your baby to look like a sausage dog ;)

i just brought a big plastic bin and put my biscults in there ,as for the 3 cases of naturediet puppy i got stray cat and local charitys be getting it ,and also i really dont think its got a great smell to it any ways she much prefers forthglades and nature harvest .  thks all

I buy enough dry food to last no longer than a month. I keep a weeks worth of food in an airtight "meant for food" container,and when thats finished i wash it out and refill it.This way you're not opening up the original bag everyday and exposing it to air and light etc.. The original bag lives in another airtight container. Make sure and store the dry food in a container made specifically for food storage purposes,i have read many a time that food storage containers are made differently,other plastic containers can leech stuff out of the food.I know,not very scientific,but i can't remember the particulars.Also the general consensus is buy enough dry food to last no longer than 1 month.

The best containers to store dry food in is glass,and then kept in the fridge,but not many fridges are big enough to hold enough. I also know of people who buy more than a months worth of food and store the excess in the freezer...

well i cant see a 13,5 bag fitting in my freezer what with all my bbq stuff lol .i left the food in its original sack and put it in a airtight container ,i think i get another smaller container like u say good idea ,my dog onl;y 7kg at the moment dont think she grow much more then 10 kg if that ,she likes orijen puppy and she likes her wet food for breakfast i like to give her a change .
Maybe i buy smaller 2.5 kg bags next time any ways thks
