My son's black mixed lab has started incessantly licking his patio (concrete) and has almost torn the vinyl siding off the house. Can anyone tell us why?

Hi, you dont say what age the dog is, is he a puppy, if he is, he could be teething, or if he is older he could just be bored, buy a kong, and fill it with some treats and stick them well down the inside of the kong this will keep him busy trying to get the treats out of the kong, when the dog is outside have you got a bowl of water there for him, ive got the same problem with mine, only they love wood, and slugs !!!! ug!!! ive chopped down a tree and the puppy is chewing on some of the wood that ive not managed to get away yet, but she is teething. My garden looks like a play area for a kid with all the different toys out there to keep the dogs amused on a good day. They like nothing better than playing chases into the house up the hall into the living room round the furniture and back out into the garden, drives me mad, but keeps them fit. Maybe someone else has another suggestion for you.
