I am so sorry for what has happened :( how awful for you.
If she was mine I think I would want to know why this has happened.

OMG im sat here opened mouthed.............what a shock and such a sad loss for you. I cannot imagine what you must be going through. (our 1st dog died due to old age so we had some time to get use to it) I know its hard but try not to feel guilty, she wasnt in any pain and was quite happy from what you have said. My initial response would be not to do post mortem but i know that once the shock has gone i would want to know what happened.
Sending you hugs and thinking of you at this difficult time x

Hi Carole,
I really feel for you. If you can afford a post morem done, I would want to know. Was it an infection, Heart?
It might not have made any diffrence if you had mated her or not.
With out knowing you will always wonder.
Thinking of you.

I'm so sorry to hear this Carole. ((((hugs)))) to you and your family.
i would also get a PM as I would be torturing myself for ever about what might have been and what I could have done but a PM might give you answers to put your mind at rest. What a horrible situation for you all. Run free poochy xx
How heartbreaking for you.
Like others I would want to know why. I'd always be asking myself what went wrong.
{{{{{hugs}}}}}

I am so sorry for your loss I had to read your post 3 times before it sunk in .
I would want to know why but then would have to think.... what difference would it make if it is going to upset you even more it wont bring her back and also as she didnt have any puppies you dont have to worry about any hereditary problems occuring , did she just collapse I would imagine it was a heart attack but thats just my opinion of course, this may of happened whether you mated her or not so dont beat yourself up.
I really feel for you ...take care~
Roni
i am so so sorry to hear of your loss i don't know what i would do regarding PM but i would have thought if it was a pyo she would have been very ill in the morning and not wanting to play but as i do not have any experience of a pyo i could be wrong.
(((hugs))) my thought are with you at this terrible time.
So very sorry Carole,
Completley unexpected death is so hard to take in, and understand.
Personaly I would need the post mortem, to know why she died and also in your case to take away the questions, if you don't have it done you will spend your whole life wondering, why, how, did you miss the signs? You need answers it will help with closure.
So very sorry, you must be totally devastated, my thoughts are with you.

carole i'm so so sorry.
Carole...I am so sorry for your loss. It must have been a terrible shock. Loosing a much loved pet at any time is tragic . You have bee on an emotional roller coaster and you must feel exhausted with it all.
You may find out that the puppies where nothing to do with her sudden parting. It maybe just one of those things. What ever you do about the postmortem will be/must be the right decision for you.
Take Care

Very sorry to read of your sad loss.
Carol, I'm so sorry - what an awful shock. It's always heartbreaking to lose someone you love but when it's so sudden it makes it even harder somehow.
Karen
I'm so so sorry to hear such sad news. You must be devastated to loose your precious friend.
What ever the PM results show, you mustn't blame yourself. It's a natural think for a dog to be mated, I'm sure you did it for all the right reasons and she was at the best age to have a first litter. Unfortunately. sometimes these things just happen, and usually to the people that deserve it least.
Her life might have been cut short, but I'm sure she had a lovely time while she was living with you.

Oh Carole, I am so sorry to hear your tragic news about your poor girl, thinking of you.....
Hayley

I am so sorry to hear this, my heart goes out to you. It is terrible whenever we lose one of our dogs, but to lose one so suddenly and so young is unbearable painful. Nothing will bring your girl back, but I do think the pm is a good idea. You shouldn't feel guilty about mating her, but if the pm rules out a link with the mating, you won't always feel that if you hadn't mated her, she would still be with you. If there is a link, you had no idea this would happen, it is just a tragic event that no-one could foresee.

Carole, my heart goes out to you. I am so very, very sorry to hear of your loss. Whatever the outcome of a PM I don't think you should blame it on mating up a perfectly healthy young bitch. There is no way any of us can make things better for you, but we do all feel for your tragic loss. {{{{ HUGS }}}} Jean

i,d just like to say thank you for all your kind words the pm was done this afternoon and my baby had a ruptured uterus the vet said even if she had been there earlier they would have been unable to do anything if they had oppersted they would have just closed her back up and she would have needed a specialist but by the time that would have happened she wouldnt of made it she said she has only seen this twice before and both dogs were brought in already dead to the surgery they have discussed amongst themselves would they have treated her any differently at the surgery as she was only scanned on friday evening and have said they wouldnt have i am so glad ive had the pm because like all good advice given i would have always wondered we had mated her before which also never resulted in any puppies i guess it was never meant to be i do have another bitch who was also mated and she is due on monday from first mating i am so worried now i just want it all over . we did choose to mate both dogs as we have been unable to get her pregnant and i desperately want to keep a puppy
I'm so sorry to read your post, sending you lots of kind thoughts
What tragic news and I am so sorry, your poor girl, run free xx

What a terrible shock for you. At least you know there was nothing you could have done differently. Best of luck with your other bitch.
