Just checked out the web site

How do they do the frozen semen matings ?

Also I see that they freeze in straws and not pellets, the straws do not seem to work

hello alancourt,
sorry just saw your reply,
msg below from keith who perfoms collection ect,

I was fortunate to be trained by prof. Schaeffer at the University of Vienna, Department of Animal Reproduction.  The freezing procedure which I was taught; all canine semen was frozen in 0.5mil straws and during the past 6 months purchased products from Prof. Catharina Linde-Forsberg, who may I add is probably the most world-wide experienced specialist within canine reproduction and freezing of canine semen, again using 0.5mil straws.  Both professors have published research work on the freezing of canine semen including post thaw results world-wide.

With reference to canine semen being frozen in pellets - this procedure is not as common and to the best of my knowledge the results comparison between both methods has not shown any advantage to frozen pellets V's frozen straws.

I hope this will help you obtain a greater understanding when comparing different freezing methods.

Hello
Thank you for your reply

Freezing in pellet for is the norm world wide ie USA,Australia,Ireland and UK.
The semen survival rate post thaw is much greater in pelleted form and conception rates are typically much higher.
