Hi
I currently have a litter of puppies (4 weeks old) and someone has expressed an interest in exporting one to Kenya. Does anyone know what is involved, how old the pup would have to be, inoculations, visa's etc. I am just doing a little research on what is involved and whether it's worth me considering or not.
Thanks for your help and advice in advance

Is this someone known personally to you or someone you know.
There are a lot of scams involving people pretending to be foreign buyers fro anything from cars to puppies. they usually say they will send you a larger sum and ask for the balance.
It is either money laundering or a way of getting your money and the original funds bounce.
Hi
No I don't know this person, she is from the UK but living in Kenya. She is viewing the pups tomorrow and we are going to discuss everything in detail. I just want to get some of my own information before I make any decision. My main concern is the welfare of such a young pup being transported overseas. If a pup cannot be exported for several months due to inoculations etc I would be much happier. At least then it could stay with me initially through this preparation period. If on the other hand an export could go ahead almost immediately I would be less interested in sending a little one so far.
Many thanks for any help

i dont know what your breed is but ironically i have discoved from my own experience that youny 8-10 week olds travel with a lot lot less stress than those who are 4-6 months...in my breed anyhow!

I exported a puppy to my friends in the US and it was fairly easy though you had to be really careful with the paperwork. Personally I am too scared to have dogs flying in the hold but luckily I have a small breed and some mad friends who were completely happy flying over and transporting him at 10 weeks in an airline approved holdall in the cabin with them.

Same with us, we've exported two to Portugal but both times the new owners have come over and taken them back home in the holdall approved to be in the cabin with them.

I sent a 10-week old puppy to the US last year, and I can't speak too highly of Virgin. they were great both with the pre-flight help regarding paperwork and with the actual flight. he went in the airconditioned part of the hold and when we left him, the attendants were playing with him and the one going on the flight said she would spend a lot of time down there with him. They rang me later to say they had had a report from the plane that he was sleeping soundly, and they rang the new owner in the states twice to give her an update on how he was.
same here i have had someone from norway express a intrest in one of my litter but im really not to keen does anybody know how much it would cost and whats involved thanks
