I noticed 1 flea on my bitch yesterday...............have had a good look but cannot find any evidance of more (dirts etc) and hope it was a rouge flea picked up from vet monday. I have frontline i can use on her , it says safe to use in lactating bitches but as pups only 4 days old i wanted to ask your advice if it is safe.
I have checked pups and all ok and bedding is being changed regularly.

frontline spray can be used on pups from 2 days old so will be safe for your bitch i would personally do both mum and pups at the same time.

If you are worried about any use of chemicals whilst the pups are so young you could do what I do and just use a nit comb. I have several combs throughout the house and use them regularly, just to check the dogs (and cat ;-) ) If I find any then I catch them between my thumb and the comb and go and drown them. If this was just a one off then I personally wouldn't use anything yet. But then that's just me. I hate putting chemicals onto my dogs unless I really have to.
