I am looking at hydro sessions for my dog following his cruciate op.
Could anyone recommend anywhere near Leeds (Yorks)?  I have looked on the CHA site and there are a few places there but I would like opinions if anyone has had any experience of a pool in this area.

Hi there is a mypetstop at capitol park, Tingley nr Leeds. They have a hydro pool I use it for my girl
£15 for 30mins, unless youre going through the insurance co , then they hike it up to £25 as they know youre claiming it back!"naughty isnt it

Thanks that was one of the ones I had looked at - along with the one in Carlton near Guiseley.

£15 for 30 mins seems reasonable but to hike up the price like that is a bit wrong, esp when vets have to agree that they are charging the same price when it goes through the insurance.

Do they offer a good service there and can you stop and watch?  I know they have a viewing window but I would prefer to be in the room with him as he has not been before and has a tendency to be a wimp :)

It is wrong they hike up the price if they know you are going through insurance, I have told them but got no response.

Yes course you can watch, you go into the room with the pool and cn throw toys in for your dog etc... they like you to keep walking round the outside of the pool at first to get the dog swimming after you.
Once out of the pool they shampoo them and hose them down, use the blaster then they have a little drying room where you can dry  them and groom them yourself.   Its great

My dog is a wimp too and is fine there

Sounds like it might be worth a look then as its not far from where I live.
I'm just a bit taken aback by the price hike for those going through insurance!  I guess they won't take payment direct from the insurers and you have to claim it back yourself.

Do they need a referral letter from the vet?

The other pool I was looking at is not far from my mum and as they are a well establised kennel I thought this may also be worth a look.  I have emailed them and am waiting for a response.

How often do you take yours swimming?

What size is the pool at mypetstop, Meadowhay?  I have my boy on the water treadmill now as I can't get a pool big enough for him.  He is a GSD and will not swim in the one position, hates being restrained in the water.  We used to go to Merrylegs at Thirsk and he could free swim (had a big pool) but that closed unfortunately.

I suspect Scarborough is too far for you all but there is a very good pool there, the girl who swims them is very very good with them and there would be no problem fitting any dogs in as she swims her newfies and we swam all our mastiffs.
