So are there no daxi owners out there.if so I would be grateful if anyone could give me some advice tilly underwent spinal surgery 5 weeks ago,the odds were 50  50 on her getting her mobility back after the op ,well she did it ,cage rest physio its hard work balancing all this and a very active young german shepherd to contend with ,but we did it and all I would like to no is ,if any body out there has been through this op with there dog and know off any supplements natural if poss.that would build up muscle and bone,and maybe help to avoid disc problems in the future.

Well done you and your girl. :-)

I don't have a Dash but I do have a GSD that went through this op 3 yrs ago last January.  He made a super recovery; better than we dared hope for. 

I am led to believe that supplementation with Glucosamine and Chondroitin may prevent spinal disc degeneration by keeping the discs hydrated and promoting the elasticity.  I've had my boy on that for the last 3 yrs and also hydrotherapy weekly from roughly 3 months post surgery.  However, the pool closed and the one we go to now only has a small pool and his turns were a little too sharp for my liking on the spine so he now does the water treadmill weekly.
