Topic Dog Boards / Health / Strange Symptoms

My wee dog small cross JR/Corgi/BC  has had some strange symptoms and was wondering what you all thought. I phoned the vet and they said just keep an eye out over the weekend and take him in on Monday if no better or worse.

he has bouts of lethargy seems depressed with no interest in toys (he is super ball/toy mad) eats his dinner but not with the same enthusiasm. He was stiff in his back legs and I thought it was his knee. (Had op for luxated patella) He had a period of half an hour where he had a good run and a play with his friends but was then very tired. When I went to check on him both ears were very white and his eye rims were pale. He has dark colored gums but the pink parts were slightly slow in refilling when pressed. He refused his favorite sausages and only ate them when someone else seemed interested. He just seems a bit off. he is vaccinated and Kennel Coughed...and earlier he was back to wanting to play a bit. Not full out like normal but interested. Then he was back off to looking depressed again.
No fever and nose goes from slightly warm to cool.
Not sure what to make of his symptoms but the white ears and pale eye rims has me concerned....
Any ideas?

Get him to a vet first chance you get.

I have no idea, not a vet, but I would drag my vet out for an emergency consultation. it will cost the earth, and may be money wasted....but I'd be really concerned. Hows things today? Keeping everything crossed for you

He is doing better today very bright and playing with his friends at work. His ears and eye rims are still pale and I am not sure about his gums as they are dark.  If he still acts perky then I will see what the vet has to say. Because of having parvo  then bloat then a knee operation he absolutely hates the vets so I try not to make him go unless necessary. He is insured so money is not an issue as my vets will bill direct. If the vet needs to do anything like temps etc.. I usually have to do it in the car, and because of his fear it is very difficult to asess him properly.

Will see. But I am still concerned about the paleness. Does any one else's dog have white ear leathers? Last night he was quite warm but his ears were still white which I thought should be pink even a little bit....

Cheers

my dog had simular symptoms, was seemingly depressed, got tired quickly, her gums were pale, and she had shifting lameness, high tempreture etc  sadly she had acute leukaemia, but there are lots of sicknesses with simular symptoms, if he doesn' get back to his normal self soon I would have a blood test done to rule out infection, etc

Hope it proved to be nothing much

He is back to feeling good. His ears are a bit pale still but over all he seems better in himself. Back to being ball mad and even had a go at the agility jumps at work, so I would say all is well at the moment.

Thanks for the replies. I am still going to keep an eye on him since whatever it was really worried me for a while.

Cheers
