Can anyone help?
My 9 week old puppy was sick this morning, only a tiny bit and it wasn't proper sick, just phlegm. He made a slight noise before he brought it up.

I am a very paranoid owner, so this could be me worrying, but I love him loads already and want him fit and healthy, which he does seem?

(also, if anyone can help with a random one, we have a bed of bark in the garden and he keeps digging and biting plants, anything I could spray I dont want to use that pet repel stuff, I dont trust it! could I use lemon juice or something?)

Cocoa mulch which is sometimes used like bark is poisonous to dogs.  I'm not much of a gardener so have no idea if it looks or smells different to normal bark chippings but it can be dangerous to dogs so it might be wise to section off that bit of the garden.

I remember the first time I saw my dog being sick, I thought she was having some kind of weird seizure as her whole body was convulsing as she brought up her dinner - very weird but now I know it is totally normal.  As for being a paranoid owner, it is far better than being a negligent one!

If it was a litte froth that he brought up and it was first thing in the morning before his breakfast, it might be a case of he is hungry as some dogs will tend to do this?  When is his last meal of the day?  Try giving him a couple of biscuits or similar just before you go to bed.

As for the bark, I am sure like cheekychow has said, it is poisonous to dogs but hopefully someone with more knowledge will be around soon.

Thanks for your messages so far, I asked the vet and his breeder about bark and they both said it is fine, he just chews it. I also just read the packaging for the bark as its newly laid and there is no ingrediants you mentioned (thankyou for the tip though) its just the plants he chews are a bit frustrating, should i spray them with lemon juice or will it harm him and attarct flies?

Last night he had weetabix and goats milk before bed about 10pm approx. It is the first time he has done it but he is usually up by 6.30 and didnt wake til 7.30a.m- so could that be why? I hate the thought of him bringing up phlegm or froth because hes hungry :(

The only way you will preserve your plants is to cordon them off from him.  Otherwise you will get very frustrated and eh will be constantly nagged at for doing what comes naturally to a puppy.

Go to lidl or Aldi, get copious amounts of jars of chilli powder, and spred it on the plants (make sure PLENTY of fresh water is available)
Every year one of my dogs has eaten my sumer planters, but last year I put chilli powder on them and the young plnts survived :)
But you do hve to re apply after rain, wet nights and in between!!!!!
