I have a very basic question. My dog goes berserk every time she sees a cat. I have been advised to use a water pistol to quieten her and then praise her for being quiet. It has worked brilliantly at home - I have been using a plant spray. However I have been unable to find a good old fashioned water pistol to use when out - I feel a bit odd trooping around with my trusty plant sprayer. Can anyone suggest where I can buy a suitable water pistol ? All the ones I have seen have either been too large, supersoaker types which will cause the poor dog to do a somersault as they are so powerful or they leak, not much good for putting in one's pocket. Help please.
I do all the time Sara. It's half the fun of chips, shooting them!

The super soaker comment tickled me and I can just picture the scene lol

Hi guest, you can also use a small size, well washed out washing up liquid bottle :D

Guest you can still buy them (trust me;)) but only from little corner shops and markets etc since they're now classed as quite cheapy with the new super soakers:D

Guest, You could teach your dog the "leave it" command.... Say it in your house as your dog is reacting to the cat If no response, use your squirter gun.
Your dog should quickly be able to associate the words with the wet :) Then do the same outside for a bit. It's one of the best commands around, imo. good luck. toodles
