Hi I have 4 dogs Koda aged 3 neutered male,Lily aged 3 neutered female ,Jay 20 months entire male and Lilys daughter Lunar 8 months. Lunar is on 2 meals a day 8am and 8pm she is fed in the morning alone and with the others in the evening. She finished her 1st season 3 weeks ago and since she has then at her evening meal she is picking. The others are good eaters and all finish their bowls off while they are eating she hangs around, when they have finished she checks out their bowls any left wolfs it down (only once!) and then starts picking at hers. The problem is that Koda is a complete gannet and try's to steal hers so she is starting to guard her dinner. I watch them like a hawk and stop him if I catch him but the sec I look away he is there. I put him in another room and he whines and she just sits by her bowl. Is this a behavioural thing ie she is waiting for the adults to finish or should I cut her breakfast and hope it improves.

Our 2 pups decided that by 10 months they would start picking  at their meals. They had previously ate like gannets. So have now cut them back to 1 meal in the evening. They will have a snack during the day eg Chicken wings or a bit of fruit.Myia has just about finished her 1st season and it has been a nihtmare to get any of our dogs to eat very much.

Will try cutting out her breakfast then to see if it improves. Funny you should mention fruit as she is at the minute sharing a banana with my daughter!
Thanks
