Hi Claire

Very well done - what a result for you and your girl.  You are going to be busy - my eight are just over 7 weeks and it is has been hard work but I've loved every minute of it.  Enjoy them as the time flys when you are so busy looking after a big litter.

Hi Claire

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your babies :)

Just a thought - I know it will involve extra cost, but is there any chance that you can get your vet to make a house call to check your girl and her pups?  I always do this and fortunately have always had vets that will do this.  I personally think that it is fairer to a bitch, who is working hard looking after her babies, not to give her the extra stress of moving her and her new arrivals.  Also it can reduce the likelihood of exposing mum and her pups to infection.

Just my opinion :)

Carina

Toatally agree with you - I assumed that Claire was unable to have a home visit.  I am lucky and my vet always comes out to check mum and pups the day after whelping.  It only costs around £50 for the visit plus any extras needed.  I think it is well worth the money to know they are okay but also to be seen in the safe environment of your home.

hi i had previously arranged for this but kuma wasnt due til monday and my regular vets on holiday til monday, so as theres only 1 vet at the surgery he cant do house visits, i was abit worried about this myself but the vets have apologised and have said they will be ready to take her straight in when i arrive, shes really settled with them this morning gave her alittle sloppy food lastnight and she wolfed it down, was woke up this morning by 1 of the pups squeling lol it had rolled away from kuma and couldnt find its way back, poor kuma was looking and trying to stretch to get it, by the time i got there she was just looking as if to say i cant move ive got seven feeding lol but their absolutely beautiful, most breeder dread the running round stage i cant wait lol

thanks yes you can tell we're in spring lol BTW does anybody have puppies due within next 28 days in manchester? reason im asking is i have a nearly full bottle of dopram leftover which has to be used within next 28 days and seems a shame to waste it!
I bought it from my vets it is a little bottle of liquid which if you have a puppy you cant get breathing or is struggling you stick 2 drops of this under their tongue and it really helps!  i had 2 pups really struggling to breathe and these alongside alot of swinging and rubbing has left me with 2 very healthy puppies who otherwise probably wouldnt have survived!
if you or somebody you know would find these useful feel free to drop me an email @ claire_m_1986@btinternet.com like i say i say just really seems a shame to waste them if they could save another breeder from losing a pup.
thanks claire

if anybody would like to see pics of pups feel free to email me @ above email and il forward some through for you, their all doing fantastic, vet had a look at them all was really pleased with them and kuma had to have an oxytocin injection as she was still losing clots to clear her out but shes healthy weight etc, although to me she looks really skinny as im so used to her having a massive belly full of pups and finding the new sleak kuma abit weird lol
