I have an 8 year old female bichon who is fixed. We recently adopted her from a person who was crating her all day long and to my knowledge she had no accidents in the crate. (She also had not been kept up to date on immunizations and heartworm so I am not sure how well she was cared for)We got her in July 2002 and since then she has been incontinent. I have taken her to the vet repeatedly and she has been found to have an antibiotic resistant urinary tract infection. She also had crystals in her urine once but now they are gone. She has had x rays and does not have a stone or obstruction but can't get rid of the infection. She also cries when you pick her up and sometimes just when she walks. She is on her 5th course of antibiotics now. The vet has done urinanaylysis and also cultures. I am starting to get frustrated with the constant urinating in the house and yet I do feel so badly for her. HELP- does anyone have any ideas. We have tried crating but she also pees in the crate. She is a very sweet and loving dog otherwise. Also she is on a prescription u/d diet.

I would have thought that now would be the time for the Vet to admit defeat and to call in a Specialist?

Hi Guest, you could try the link below but I don`t think it`s anything you don`t know already.Have you thought of feeding her a natural raw food diet?
