Hi, we are on day 62 here and had a very restless night, Tess was up and down like a yoyo. We slept down stairs and she kept coming to me for cuddles then going and stretching out on the floor. We've had alittle more nesting, and her temp is lower than it has been, but not low enough to suggest things have started just yet. She has a very soft vulva and alittle clear discharge too. Off to give her a trim down below in a minute.

Lots of moaning and growning too and licking of paws. I've been reading up and found that the average for her breed to whelp is day 61-63, so hopefully things will get going in the next 24 hours. I'll keep you all posted.

i hope all goes well with you we are on day 60 i keep looking for signs i am so excited and all the post on here with lots of pups being born at the moment i cant wait. i wish the other posters would keep us informed i keep checking to see if there is any developments?

She went for a light walk this afternoon with my husband and when they came home he said it looked like she's lost her mucus plug, which I'd noticed the start of while I was trimming her fur down below. Her milk came through a couple of hours ago too.

She growls/barks every now and then for no real reason, wo wondering of maybe thats contractions starting and they've given her abit of a shock. Off to take her temp now. Will let you all know how we get on.

Just done her temp, and it's 37.9, so we will see what the night brings.

One of my girls did that with her first litter I found it quite funny .She is normally a big softy .She was a great mum once pups were born.

Well we are still here! No pups yet. She was up and down all night though, and loads of nesting. So really hoping things will kick off properly today. She is fast asleep now, so I'm waiting for my husband to get home and thats exactly what I intend on doing!

Her temp is alittle lower than it has been too, so everything crossed!!

I got alittle sleep. Might not be getting much tonight tho! haha. Shes not eaten all day, so jst given her some chicken broth which she enjoyed. So hopefully that will give her some energy to get these pups out! She's started panting alittle now too.

I'm abit concerned. I'm sure her waters broke at about 6:20pm, and she had a few mild-ish contractions after that. But things seem to have stopped and it has been nearly 6 hours since her water broke. I've spoken to my vet and he didn't seem worried, and that if she still hadn't started by the morning then phone him back. Is there anything I can do to be certain that it was her waters that broke?

She seems fine in herself btw. xx

hi nicki, well i think? we have the same breed so dont know if this will help but my girl started heavy panting around teatime of day 62 this went on all night (got 0! sleep) then around 10 the next morning she went in her whelping box herself like she knew what was coming this was day 63 by 1.30 pm she had had them all...hope this helps abit dont worry too much i know its hard but you will defi know when the time has come..my girl was panting like mad she had a sort of mad glazed look in her eyes (sounds weird but she did ha) then she kept going in circles in her box lying down licking her back end then getting back up and doing the same..i had my hand on her side you could really feel the contractions then she started pushing!! but kept getting up and moving around her box this went on until they were all here...hope any of this made sense?? good luck hun..xx minni.

Oh thanks, that has put my mind at rest. We have just been for alittle walk in the hope that it might speed things up. And she hadn't been to the toilet for most of yesterday, she just refused to go out, so she's done her business now, but after she done it she kept squating as if she still needed to go, but there was nothing there. We are on day 64 now, can I ask what your girls temp was like? Tess' has been ranging from 37.5 to 38.2 the last few days, but through the night has been around 37.3.

It seems like however much reading and research you do it still doesn't seem to prepare you, this is far more stressful than having my own babies, and I'm sure I have been having sympathy pains! And before you ask, no I'm not pregnant, lol.

Hi her temp will drop again and thats when pups really are on there way so just keep a close eye on her .By what you`ve written it looks like your girl is getting ready so hopefully not too long now. Good luck.

Hi, still no sign of the puppies, coming into day 65 now. But I have been talking to the owner of the stud dog we used, and we were discussing that they tied quite early in her season, on days 8 and 10. We'd tried the previous season on days 10 and 12 but she simply wouuldn't stand for him, so assumed we'd missed our chance. So I'm wondering this time as she was mated early, she may not have ovulated until a few days after the first mating, in which case we may have a couple more days to go yet, her temp has been at 37.6 all day today.

Bless her tho she is so fed up, and the lack of sleep has given me a migrane, lol. My little girl was off school all last week, so it would be typical for Tess to start tomorrow or tonight when Shannon is due back at school, so won't beable to take her. haha.

I will let you all know as soon as anything happens.
