not sure if spelling is correct. has anyone seen this? im wondering whether nhs is paying for these ops as it didnt say? one bloke had breast reduction and to be honest he didnt look much better and a woman had an anal tag removed so her potential boyfriend could 'feel all over' in other words have a***l with her! i would have got rid of the potential boyfriend instead!

Yes I watched it, I was so pleased for the people involved that they were able to get their "problems" sorted out, some having suffered for several years. Not sure who was paying, but I suspect it wasn't the NHS.
I have watched it. Makes me laugh that they keep saying about these people being too embarassed to go to the Doctor then the "patients" go see a Doctor in front of cameras knowing millions of people at home are watching(?)!!!
Some of them truly deserved treatment but for others i think it was cosmetic and not at all necessary. Others (for example the woman with a prolapse) i can't believe have lived for years with these conditions and done nothing about it.
I suspect sums of money were involved plus surgery/treatment in flash private hospitals. Thats the only way you'd get me to do something like that.

I used to work with 'Alyson' from last nights epidsode - bit of a shock to see her bits on telly!!!
I too was wondering who was paying for the ops!
Couldn't believe the woman also from last night who had problems for 2 1/2 years! I can't believe that she didn't see her Dr - or the midwife after having her baby?

I think in one way the show does let people know that if they have a condition they are worried about then they really aren't the only one. If it's a real concern, a lump or a mole perhaps, then hopefully it will encourage them to seek treatment.
As for the more 'cosmetic' problems, well I do think they are a set up to show what can be done if you have the money as I really don't think the NHS would pay for all of them everytime. As somebody who had a much needed breast reduction (not for cosmetic reasons - the constant discomfort was unbelievable) I can assure you that no way would I have exposed my boobs to the world. When I finally plucked up courage and had enough money I even cried talking to my doctor (I wanted him to refer me to a consultant rather then me take a chance). The embarressment was awful, despite knowing the future was going to be better for me.
No, these people who happily expose their small, huge or odd boobs on camera really don't have the problems they think they have. I only hope it doesn't fill up out waiting rooms with people wanting free boob jobs !.
I'd be the first one down for a NHS boob job-in the meantime i am slowly but surely saving up :-)
My sister had my share and was obviously in front of me in the queue..Hers are huge mine are not.
As much as my small boobs embarass me a little bit that wouldnt bother me on TV. Anything "down below" though i would not want to expose....especially if there was something wrong it!!

Oh I watched late last night and saw the one with the lady parts. So maybe I was watching a repeat.
I was shocked at the two ladies with the prolapses, the one surely should have had the problem picked up on the post natal check.
eh oen surely shoudl ahve had the problem picked up on teh post natal check.
Sometimes they can take a bit longer to drop, dosen't always become apparent by the first 6 weeks.

We have the light treatments at our local NHS to treat psoriasis etc. I think most of that wasnt paid for by the NHS though! :)

No its not paid paid the nhs its private
Great programme though

Fab program, absolutely loving it! Even taped the female parts one.
The only thing that's irritated me with that episode was that vaginismus (painful intercourse) wasn't mentioned at all - but it a surprisingly common affliction and something I suffer with myself. It would have been useful to get some more info on where to get help.
Having said that I've not looked at the website yet, there may be something on there. *scuttles off to look*

Freds mum it's much better to have them small than too big trust me, I had to have a reduction op because I got sores with them rubbing my skin whatever sort of bra I wore and cos I am also overweight everyone thought I was pregnant!!! And you can't run anywhere without being almost smacked in the face with the stupid things!!! :-(

I know at least 6 people from my area that have had certain jobs done like the above and the NHS has paid for them if it affects you mentally NHS will pay my S-I-L has had a Tummy tuck on the NHS as she lost over 5 stone and it left a horrible (APRON AS CALLED) breast reducements and all sorts so yes the NHS does pay.
Linda
I know where your coming from LucyDogs and saw my sister suffer from having a large chest but its not just a physical thing. Emotionally i cry whenever i have to buy bras because theyre always awful on me. People suggest wonderbras etc to boost cleavage but you cant boost what isnt there. Tops never look right because i have nothing to fill them and trousers are a struggle to buy because im so long legged(but thats another issue) I dont look proportioned with height/boobs. Gets my confidence down alot when im out becuase men overlook you and even tell me i have a flat chest (like i dont already know). I sympathise with you Lucy dogs but its not easy been small chested either.:-(

Freds mum I sympathise with you completely. Small boobs run in my family, me, my poor daughters, my mum etc. My younger sis got all ours lucky cow!!
It makes you feel less womanly doesn't it. My eldest has had a boob job, not mahoosive, just a lovely size. My youngest is already saving and my middle one is too scared to have it done. Me? I'd love to but I feel too old now and I def didn't have the money 10 years ago :( Yeah and my girls are all tall 5'10 5'8 5'5 me im a shorty 5'1 :)
oh yes....my two sisters are large chested...not me! Though to be fair, I accept the fact that I don't have a large chest....I only wish I could keep the weight off my ass to keep myself in proportion - lol
but seriously, I have always had a more athletic figure, and when I was younger I used to wail about not being able to wear strapless outfits etc, but now I am thankful I can still pass the pencil test, and I have (mostly) retained my figure, ok I could do with toning up a bit more but nothing I'm going to lose any sleep over ;)
just remember the mantra - small but perfectly formed
:)
Thanks. I know im not the only small chested person but sometimes it feels like it with my large chested friends and sister. I am saving for a boob job. Dont want them huge and dont want to look like ive had a boob job (if that makes sense) but just want to be able to fill out bras and tops and not feel limited to what i have to wear. Its a lot of money though and every time i save a fair bit it is used on something else that crops up. Just cant wait to go shooping without having a paddy and crying.
if it affects you they way you say, you should go and see your GP because it sounds like it is really getting you down and you may be able to get it done on the NHS. Certain people have been given the op on NHS because they have lost there boobs after anorexia and similar problems and it was similarly affecting there life also. No harm in asking
Louise

Have every sympathy for the people with these problems but blimey - how would you look them in the face the next day if you worked with them and you'd seen their bits on TV?! LOL
Mind you, working in a business environment, I always find it quite strange that men go off to the loo and whip 'em out and then go back into business meetings. Suppose you don't give it a thought if you're a bloke.
M.
Thanks louise, not sure a Doctor wouold take it seriously though? And would they not try to put you anti depressants or something before suggesting surgery? Thats a route i dont want to go down again. Was on A.D before and they gave me terrible side affects, infact they made me a lot worse not better. Was prescribed them for something different though. Does anyone know what a Doctor would suggest or advise?
Well, Freds mum, I have found having a chest, (just a C nothing huge :-D ) with the world of fashion not so good today, most celebs are very small chested (usually down to not eating) and they are the fashion clothes horses, I find that clothes are made to cater for the smaller chest, a lot of modern tops look terrible with a chest, unless you like to flash at everyone, which I don't. Or they are low fitting again no good with a chest.
Today, the smaller chest IMO the world is your oyster, take a look in the magazines at the models, the actresses, with all of their money they don't go for boob jobs, they are perfectly happy with their bodies. And let's face it there is always the chicken filets, they work very well. :-)
All of us have things about us that we don't like, the best therapy is to just not think about it, when you do distract yourself, the world is for living not worrying about what we have or haven't got. No matter what we may feel about our physical bodies at the end of the day we are all in the long term with friends, partners because we like them as people, personality and a good heart go further than anything on the outside, that is superficial, what is inside is what makes us all beautiful and loved. :-) And that is what you need to focus on.
Thanks Carrington. Unfortunately i think my mind is made up. I've suffered for years and reached a point where i have had enough. Chicken fillets are OK but you constantly worry they are going to fall out,or they do fall out,and they're only good while you've got a bra on. As soon as it comes off and you see yourself in a mirror its awful again. Yes, i agree we all have issues that we deal with, but for the sake of £4000 i could be totally happy with everything. Also, boyfriends would never say, but they all like something to hold dont they? I'm not saying huge boobs but something more substantial than my "bee stings"
Thanks anyway :-)
Fredsmum...like all things, some doctors will take it seriously, expecially if it is affecting your life and mental wellbeing. I doubt they would take notice of someone with a c cup wanting to go bigger, but if you really are small then there is always the chance they could help. I'd suggest you book a double appointment with a doctor you feel has a more sympathetic nature and is more willing to listen. tell the doctor exactly how you feel, hold nothing back, make notes to talk from if you feel your mind may go blank and tell him why you have the list. I would decline any AD's, but have counciling should that be offered, which makes you show willing. Its an expensive op, and drains their budget, so they will want to make sure the op is essential for your wellbeing. You can but ask, and no doctor worth his salt should make you feel stupid because thats not the way to help someone in your position. One thing I would stress is make sure the op is for your sake, not that you feel a boyfriend would prefer you with bigger boobs! Damn them, if they don't like your body then they are not worth having. :O Shut door and move on ;)
It can't help to ask. if the answer is no, well you can keep saving. But at least you will know. Good Luck :)
