please help, my girl is nearly 6 weekg gone in her pregnancy, we had her scanned and they said she is having a large litter, now weve found that shes being sick more than usual, its not her food its just throthy like, is this normal or does she need veting?

i know that thehr is things can go wrong just like us and if it happens it happens but if i can easily prevent it i will

just had a thought, as we speak shes doing it, its like she has something stuck or a cough, it could be kennel cough,

any advice would help please

i lost a litter of 9 fcr puppie beacuse themum had kc at day 56 had the puppy on that day started losing the puppys at 2 1/2 weeks to 8 weks from kc,

If it is just frothy sick it will be like indigestion from the pressure on her organs.  Have you split her food into several meals a day.

she has two meals a day, i found out wn i got in last night that my partner gave them another two chicken wings each, so that meant she had 4, iv just rang the vets and they lectured me about these raw food diets, i think its kc myself, i will have have her to the vets tonight, just to be on the safe side,

you could be right, i suppose they will be like us when were pregg's

you should see her tho, she is absolutely huge, so you have a point

if she's very large then her stomach itself will be compressed by the growing whelps, and she'll need several small meals a day rather than one or two larger ones.

If she isn't coughing or sneezing then I woudln't think kennel cough just because she is being sick when heavily in whelp.

she has a cough, she developed it this morning, th be honest, it could be ano. of things, our walls had to be pulled down on monday and even though she wasn,t there at the time there is a lot of dust, also we have no heating on in the house, its not cold but its a change, i am so baffled and upset, mixed emotions really because its our first time in breeding, iv got the book about the bitch and reading that at mo. im trying to do as much of the right thing as i can,

no heating situation, we have more vet bed and blankets than normal, i did think about moving her and mate in with my mum but i knew that would be a bad idea,

iv got an appointment at vets just to make sure,

when she was just being sick i didnt worry because i thought its normal behaviour, but not this cough and wretching makes ne think its something,
it just looks like when we have a throaty cough, we cough and then retch then bring something up,

thanks  sami x

Coughing is also a sumptom of heart trouble, I assume she has been heart tested?
- By deansami [gb] Date 01.05.08 09:01 UTC
shes had her required tests done which are 2 eye tests phpv and hereditary cataract and also l-2-hga, thats all i was aware she should have

Yes that is correct, confused with another poster with a heart problem prone breed :D  Vet will no doubt listen to the heart anyway to rule things out with the symptoms presenting.
