Hi

I am slowly building up my equipment for dog grooming - just wondered what baths any of you use?

thanks

I have a normal bath from b & q built up to waist height. cheap and brilliant for big and small dogs.

Hi have just bought a bath from the kennel shop ebay £680 and that was a bargain waiting for it being delivered from probably china let you know.  What I would really like to ask people is about grooming courses I just did 16 day very expensive and the felt like i was just dumped without experience.  I really want to get on with it where can i go for experience (Lancashire) I would also like to get c&g cert in 2 years can anyone help! I would willingly do other courses.

Just use our own bath and kneel beside it, one day if we ever move might try to get proper grooming / bathing room arranged!

Hi Maxine, the dog groomer I use has had her garage kitted out as a grooming parlour.  She has a standard bath built up to the correct height.  You can get second hand baths on ebay really cheaply, especially if they are in dodgy 70s colours like avocado and burgundy!  All you need is a big enough vehicle to pick them up in!  x

Hi
Try your local college for C&G grooming courses. I am booked in for a w/end taster next month with mine with a view to doing the full C&G course in the next term (Sept now!)
I don't have any idea of the cost as have not enquired yet. I thought I would do the taster and then make a decision as to whether I will enjoy it or not.
Good luck
Aileen.

Hi

I did the two day taster it cost £140 and then the city and guilds level 2 that I start in September is £480 plus exam/registration fee I think if I remember rightly......

As for gaining experience I am going to volunteer at rescue centres - my theory being - a good variety of breeds, conditions and temperaments as well as doing something good - I cant foster anymore but I can groom!  (well nearly - sort of )

Good idea about the baths everyone think that has to be the way to go.....

I hate baths of any sort for my poor back personally.

I have a shower tray in the corner of my grooming room at waist height. Tiled at two sides. It is perfect.  No lifting in and out of the bath.
