hi
me again

i wondered if anyone had experience of styes in their dogs eyes? my two year old cocker has got a stye next to the tear duct in the lower lid of his left eye. he has antibiotics and cream for it, the vet said if it doesn't clear in 2 weeks then he will have to go in and he will burst it. what would that entail - sounds horrible!! should it just clear on its own? he also today has a kind of boil come up as well under his chin, there's no head just like a sore lump. he was in kennels over the weekend as i had to go away, and i only noticed it today when he came home - any ideas???

thanks everyone.

Bathe with cotton wool soaked in cold tea or just dab it rather than wipe it as it will be tender. You can do it 2 or 3 times a day. Our old Lab had a place on her eye which we thought would have to be operated on. Our homeopathic vet at the time advised this rather than surgery at her age. It used to come back from time to time but the tea always cleared it. Worth a try.
