Odd as it might sound, his anal glands might be giving him trouble. Get him checked at the vet.

Might be his food or just general worry in the family?
My dog did it suddenly licked one front paw so bad hair stopped growing - so fed him different food now it's all stopped.

Could be anal glands or maybe even pain radiating from somewhere else - my dobermann girl used to have a bald spot on her paw from licking, and she stopped instantly after she was treated by a chiropractor for pain in her hip.

Hi thanks for all your posts, we dont think its is Anal Glands as they are checked regularly by the vets,  We change his food quite often as he dont eat the same one for ever he gets bored of it lol push overs aint we lol.  He could have a little stress as we are expecting our 1st baby in 1 an half weeks and there's lots of stuff around for him to get used to.  So fingers crossed he will be ok when baby arrives.  If not any tips on that one as well.  What should be do

Thanks again

Could be his joints are causing pain but would think it may be soreness or irritation between the pads. Some dogs do get into the habit of doing things like this for no obvious reason, at least no reason we and the vet can fathom, would guess the dog knows why.

I have a dog of 7years who has always put one of his back feet in his mouth, it is now a pink colour but we have no idea why he does it, bit like a child sucking a thumb it is with out reason but it still happens.

Would inspect the feet between the pads and see if you can see a reason and ask the vet when next there, or sooner if you are worried. Could be something he has walked through that has been sprayed on the grass or a change in your cleaning materials.

Perhaps he is a dog that doesnt like change and isnt responding well to new things in the house. Even though the baby isnt here i would presume you have the crib, moses basket etc up. Be very careful when bringing the baby home as he may react even worse to that.
