yes i have.are you thinking about having a treatment?

it is the strangest feeling, you cant really describe it, very good though.

What are you hoping it will cure ? If you have trouble with ear wax - olive oil is great !
- By Debs2004 Date 25.04.08 11:21 UTC
I'm hoping it will clear my head, improve my balance which is a bit wonky at times if I'm standing for long periods (not alcohol induced!) and maybe help my hearing.  Never had problems with my ears as a kid but made up for it in my teenage years with infection after infection.... :-(
I'm sure it wasn't helped by having glandular fever, mumps, tonsilitis etc in late teens. Even ended up on pethidine when suffering with tonsilitis.

I seem to struggle with sinus-related problems now and have for years blamed it on hayfever or unrecognised allergies.

I'm hopeful this treatment (booked for later today) may help in some way.....

Ooh as my consultants always state nothing in your ear smaller than your elbow, Idon't know whether I'd be keen having these put in mine.

Do you have young children?  Unfortunately if you do you are always going to be more prone to getting ear problems, tonsillitis etc.

LOL Nooo! No small children - he's almost 20!

I wonder how they started and what was the thinking behind them? I suspect that someone thought
"mmmmmm, that looks like a candle holder" ;)

The Doc used these on my son who was in his mid/late teens at the time, he had a history of frequent ear infections, grommets, t/a's out.....It worked a treat on him! He has hardly had a problem since...i was really pleased after being a bit sceptical.

i always have a pack of these in, they are great, my husband was always getting blocked ears and going to the doctors all the time
and he laughs at me and all my herbal remedies etc,
but he gave it a go and he has for the last few months had clear ears,
he said he could hear cracking and popping when he used it in the really bad ear,
he now tells other people about them
also used them on my 13 year old daughter about two months ago and even the teachers mad a coment on how
her hearing had improved

I had candling done a few weeks ago and what a great feeling.  Would definitely get it again.  The fizzy ear thing takes a bit of getting used to but well worth it.

Sorry if this is a silly question but after the treatment would there normally be wax and rubbish removed from the ear ?. Does it come to the surface or does it just sort of melt it away so it drains naturally ?.

Thanks - just always wondered !.

Step it up a gear and have electro acupuncture!  Done that, very weird feeling but very relaxing. :-)

Hi Val, apparently there is as it gets drawn up into the 'candle'.  everyone that I know that has looked after it has been done is disgusted by the muck but I had just had a swedish massage so wasn't bothered about anything at that point so didn't ask to see.
