I recently found out that Murphy is allergic to dust mites, storage mites, house mites... everything you cant eliminate!!
I was wondering if anyone else has a dog allergic to these things? If so any hints to help him out. I have been cleaning like mad, and I am going to get him a new bed with a water proof inner lining. Air purifier etc etc. Anything else?

well another question to add about the allergy.....

I am looking at dog beds with a waterproof liner. So water/mites cannot get into the stuffing. And the cover can be washed frequently, whilst the inside doesnt not. Also while searching the www
I can across some heavy duty waterproof dog beds...would these prevent mites from getting into the stuffing??

did the vet suggest antihistamines or any medication, or have you just been given the allergic info? Have you informed the breeder? This could be a problem from the parents that has been carried on to the pups.

Try beds such as kudos or tuffies
Spray house and car with Indorex regularly
Remove carpets if possible
go to homeopathic vet and get a remedy made up.

well, he didnt give me anti-histamines or anything...just suggested medication to control his allergies. But to be honest, he has been really good since he has been on RAW. We only have carpet upstairs.. and he spends most of his time downstairs. We are getting rid of his old beds. For ones like tuffie..what about hammock style beds? His skin is much better. I am going to get a air purifier this weekend, well maybe 2...one for up and down stairs.

blue my fcr had allergies to the over post plue she was at she had alllergies against grass and trees,
so we went down to route of injecting her once a month it did improve.

one thing about storage mite it in the dry dog food even how hard  you storge the food they are there though the making and packaging,
one thing the vet said was to wet the dry food so the dust of dry food was wet.

it didnt make any differents in changing the bed we had cozie bed bit like tuffie at the time with blue,, i bought two tuffies  at crufts with covers this year.
i hoover every day and wash the floor as we got tles all cover down stairs, still didnt change things with blue,
