a bitch i have just got is due pups in 3 weeks (pregnant when i got her long story) i have put her on pedigree puppy food but is this a ok dry food if you get me or is it bad for the puppys wich is the best dry food i can/should be giving her also does anyone have any copys of diet sheets for sbt so i can get a idea of what it should have in it and look like
My honest opinion? I wouldn't touch pedigree with a barge pole.Pups need the very best start in life and feeding them a food with such questionable ingredients in it just isn't giving that to them. Having said this i know many people on here have fed pedigree to their pups, they should be chiming in soon.
Some foods you can check out, some are better than others :
i rasied a litter on pedigree once, but have to say they were the smelliest and dirtiest pups ive ever had, and wont be doing it again! since then i have used james wellbeloved and naturediet, my last litter i used arden grange and nature diet, much nicer condition to pups and mum with both foods, they also seem cleaner and their poo's were much nicer
i would stay away from pedigree food if i were you, its absolutely terrible, the only thing its good for is to get puppys to start eating i guess cus of the horrible smell (wet)
My new puppy has come to me having been weaned onto pedigree and I have to say she is in fine fettle. I will, given time , change her over to the same as my older dog eats for ease, but am perfectly happy for now. Karen :)
