Just had to share my good news :)

Just had a phone call from dh to say that he has been promoted which is great news:)

My worry now is that Belle can not travel until mid November so I am hoping that we won't be posted until then at the earliest. I am going to fine out what the situation is with things like this ie. can I stay here in Germany until she is able to travel and oh will just have to go unaccompanied until I can join him.

Congratulations to your oh!  I take it from what you have said that he is in the forces and you are living in quarters?  I know that you are allowed to move up to 4 weeks either side of the posting date and any longer than that will depend on whether there is surplus accommodation where you currently live as to whether you could stay longer in your current home and being on the nice side of DHE always helps!!! ;-)

:-D

Please ignore me if I guessed wrongly that your OH is in the forces/MQe etc!

Kerri xx

Yes he is in the forces :)
I'll just have to hope that there are plenty empty quarters at the time if she can't travel. It will be sods law because at the minute we have loads of empty quarters round here which have been empty for months and even since we got here 18 months ago!
I spoke to his ASM this morning and he doubts that it will be before she can travel anyway so I have everything crossed.

Thanks :)

You should be ok.  My hubby is looking to get his commission and if successful he would have to attend the officer cadet 7 month course and during this time we are not really supposed to be entitled to quarters (even though we live in them now!!) as he would be classed as a new entrant (despite 17 years service!).  Spoke with the housing bods who have advised as long as we put everything down in a letter, it shouldnt be a problem remaining where we are for those 7 months.  And obviously you are supposed to get at least 4 months notice of moving/postings (would like to say 6 but that never happens!!) plus the 1 month allowance either side of the draft, you are in effect only really asking for another couple of months maximum!! ;-)  Hope it all works out ok for you!

Kerri xx :-)

Oh I hope your hubby gets his commission:)

I'm sure it will all be ok :) I just spoke with my neighbour/friends husband who is our welfare officer and he doesn't think there would be a problem if I had to stay a couple of months longer, I'm probably worrying over nothing.

UPDATE!

We have a whole 2 postings to choose from whoopppeee, Aldershot & Northern Ireland. Hubby has put in for Aldershot as his first choice as we are not so keen on NI. Both postings are not until October so hopefully there won't be a problem with me staying on until November.

Congratulations to hubby, (by the way what does dh stand for, I've noticed it a lot, I take it this is your OH but what does it mean? Not a youngster, my excuse :-D )

Great news for you. :-)

Congratulations, don't worry if it's N. Ireland it is a beautiful country and the city of Belfast is really humming these days.

What good news...here's hoping you get Aldershot then!
I do love it in NI though, went for a weekend to Belfast with my sis a couple of years ago it was fantastic fun.

Oh I'm sure it is a lovely place and only heard of good things but would just like to spend some time in the south of England for a change so I am closer to the southern shows.

Well, of course, you have to sort the dogs and the showing first ;-) and there is no doubt it would be very expensive if you had to travel back to the UK for shows although there is always the shows in Eire.
