Can anyone one help a friend of mine? she has two dogs rarely left alone but just recently when they are left she returns to find they are have been scratching at the wallpaper and plaster she is at her wits end, is there anythink she can spray onto the walls to make it less desirable. cheers,
what about a crate?? If she's not out for long it wouldn't be a problem, and the dogs would be secure too??

This sounds like the start of separation anxiety. She needs to train them gradually to be left alone, and in the meantime keep them in an area where they can't scratch at the wall - a playpen or large crate with plenty of room to move will help.

How about a large puppy pen-for adult dogs as well-Croft Freedom Puppy Pen-Google it and you will find the site.
They do two different heights-plus you can buy extra panels to make larger.
Will cost though-maybe £150 but if you think how much it is to repair the damage they have already done it is well worth it.
When they have finished doing whatever they are up to at the moment-and there must be a reason-it could be sold . I am sure there will be someone looking for a second hand pen.
Good luck

One of my boys goes through phases like this, it's like his stress levels go up and it then brings out separation anxiety. I use TopSpec Calmer and a DAP diffuser, it doesn't cure him but does have a noticable effect. I think the TopSpec works the best, it's mostly B vitamins so is just what people use for stress. My boy was like this just before Xmas, I ended up having to wrap all the presents 3 times as he kept trashing them! The destruction is annoying but it's also so upsetting to see a loved one in a distressed state for no real reason. Hope your friend finds a solution :)

Sound very likely, containment is the immediate solution as already said, (my crate would be out pronto) and then the seperation training leaving for 10 mins, then 15, 20 making a slow build, until a dog is happy to be left.
Do the dogs have knuckle bones, kongs etc to keep them occupied whilst she is out also?
thanks everyone i will tell her about your advice,
