Topic Dog Boards / Health / Puppy a little sore.

I have a 4 month old larger build puppy and she is having a few problems getting up in the mornings ( see dogs do take after there owners ;-)   )
She just seems to get very stiff, not particularly just her back legs all over really and it takes her a while to be able to get up and about. Once she is up she is fine but, do you think maybe adding some extra Fish Oils to her diet might help ??

What breed is she (or if a mixed breed, what is she most like size-wise).
How much exercise does she have? it could be that she has been doing to much?

Any number of things could be the cause. I would take her to the vets to investigate. Large breed puppies can go through stages where they get stiff, but it's still worth getting them checked out.

Glucosamine is a suppliment for joint care, and is very highly though of by a lot of owners (I've just got my pup on this)

She is build wise like an chunky American bulldog so not very tall but, very broad. She is only 4 months so, I think it is just growing type pains as she does seem to have grown very fast in the last month, bless her. She was checked by the vet just a few weeks ago and he did have a good old feel of her joints, etc and said she seems fine. She is once she is up and about it just seems to be when she has been asleep for a while.
I will have a little look at Glucosamine though

Thanks

My pup's been on Glucosamine for just over a week and I really can see an improvement in his movement allready, it is definately worth getting.

Keep an eye on her, & keep us updated :)

OK, I'll see if I can get some online. I assume Petmeds will have it ;-)
I'll let you know how she does on it
